I'm having the same issue with my 2004's rearview mirror except the OnStar buttons also don't light up. I'm hoping those are connected. I cracked mine open but mine only has 2 components labelled 4R3. They're also in different locations from yours. Should I still try and reflow those 2?
So the weekend finally rolled around a year later... I have the mirror disassembled and I'm not seeing anything obviously broken. I have been searching for a repair how to for the flickering display but I haven't found one for my year (2004). Can someone point me in the right direction?
The LEDs...
I have a 2004 GMC Yukon 5.3L AWD with Stabilitrak. My truck is missing the round Auto 4x4 button and only has a Stabilitrak button and a 4LO button. I know the difference between 4WD and AWD, I'm not a simpleton. But what I don't understand is with my truck is it always in 4WD or is it in 2WD...
SOLVED: Turns out it doesn't like when you mix new and old oxygen sensors. Just before this problem started happening I replaced my exhaust and the upstream oxygen sensors. I replaced those first because they were easy to get to while I had the exhaust out. I completely forgot about the...
Wait, so the wireless charging works fine with current Samsungs and my Microsoft phone that came out 3 years ago, but it won't work with the current and previous generation of iPhones? Good one (again) Apple.
Yeah but it's not like they're expensive. Okay I will review my solder joints first. So I checked the dimming this morning and they actually turn off completely when the dimmer wheel hits the bottom (as they should). I'm not sure why I remember them turning off before that point. If you wouldn't...
Okay, I follow you for the most part. I think you are correct about the LEDs turning off around 9.4V because they're off completely before the dimmer wheel reaches the bottom. I did not notice any color differences between the LEDs. I'm sure I did a good job with soldering the connections but I...
Eventually I will send my cluster in to be upgraded to LEDS and also a transmission temp gauge. I definitely don't want to screw with that myself.
Actually... I just remembered the how-to thread I was following (no idea where it was) said it didn't matter which side of the LED the resistor was...
I have a 2004 Yukon and about 6 months ago I converted my dash lights to LEDs. Now about half of them don't work. Before each light failed it would start constantly blinking for several days until it no longer lit up. I suspect the problem is with the resistors. All I know about them is that...
Great to hear you found it. I on the other hand checked my PCM connections (which were fine) and now it acts like it needs to be relearned. It was my understanding that you could just disconnect the battery, check the connections, put them back, then reconnect the battery and you would be fine...
It is very aggravating because it doesn't make sense. Tonight I got another check engine light (the same P0178 code) on the second new sensor... When I first installed this one the check engine light came back the first time I drove it. Just to be sure I disconnected the battery for about half...
I just replaced the flex fuel sensor on my 2004 Yukon with the 5.3L flex engine approximately 45 days ago. Today I got a check engine light for the fuel composition sensor again (P0178) and had the same symptoms the last time it went bad. I even cleared the code and it came back the next time I...
I'm new to tie rods and ball joints so this might be a stupid question. My 2004 Yukon needs new ball joints and tie rods so I'm wondering if they all need to be replaced at the same time or if I can change the tie rods first and then replace the ball joints later down the road. Would that cause...
Yes, the stock intake had 2 big sound chambers to prevent droning. I never even heard it make a droning sound with the stock intake. When I replaced it with a solid tube cold air intake I was surprised by how much those 2 chambers actually made a difference.
