    Real MPG on Denali?

First real test - 2017 Tahoe Premier

I'm waiting for Toyota to re-design the Sequoia so I can trade my 4Runner. It's taking too long so I may be in a Yukon sooner than later.

    4x2 v. 4x4

I don't think the difference in mpg is that much. Maybe 1-2mpg. http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=36627&id=36617

    4x2 v. 4x4

Since you can drive in 2wd I doubt the mpg difference will be all that material. It's full-time 4wd/AWD where the hit is more noticeable. This is also true for the 4Runners (my Limited is full-time 4wd). Just remember to engage the 4wd every now and then to keep things working.

Dealerships Rip You Off With The "Four-Square," Here's How To Beat It

You could probably get an unsecured line of credit with a better interest rate unless you have poor credit and high debt servicing.

Dealerships Rip You Off With The "Four-Square," Here's How To Beat It

That's pretty cool. Never heard of that in Ontario, New Brunswick, or Nova Scotia. Just called the NS DMV to ask and he had no idea what I was talking about. Anyway, most of Canada has sales tax of 13-15% so often times a dealer trade nets you close to market value and it's not worth dealing...

Dealerships Rip You Off With The "Four-Square," Here's How To Beat It

I only negotiate on 2 items: selling price of car (out the door pre-tax) and trade-value if applicable. A simple calculator will let you know your payments if applicable- payments never come up in my car buying conversations. Interest rates are not a big deal either because I can access...

Do You Regret: Short-Body vs Long-Body

Thanks everyone- lots of good points to be considered. It is definitely very subjective but I am not hearing any regrets from anyone who went with one over the other. I'll keep lurking and keep researching. The Sequoia doesn't appear that I will be re-designed this year or next. I've...

    Employee Pricing---is this legit?

I agree with @nj16yukon. "Employee pricing" is just as abstract as invoice or 0% financing. Focus on out the door price before anything else. Just because they say you don't qualify for a "deal" it doesn't mean that you can't work one out. A dealer never not responds to an offer.

Do You Regret: Short-Body vs Long-Body

Thanks everyone. I know it's very subjective but it sounds like everyone is very happy with their decision either way. I do feel the LWB looks a little odd with the 18" base wheels but the 20's and 22's look awesome. For my family, the SWB is definitely sufficient but it would be purchased...

Do You Regret: Short-Body vs Long-Body

Hey guys, just curious: If you bought a Yukon or Tahoe, do you regret not getting the XL or Suburban? Conversely, if you bought an XL or Suburban, do you regret not getting the Yukon or Tahoe? I'm still exploring my options. I initially thought I'd get a regular Yukon, but part of me thinks I...

    New 17 Yukon

I use Optimum No Rinse and Optimum Spray Wax exclusively. I clay and wax every spring and fall (Mother's clay kit). 4 years later (4 salty slushy Nova Scotia winters I might add) and my 4Runner basically looks as good as the day I bought it. The paint is glossy as can be. I use is Optimum No...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Well it's just a matter of perception. If a $55-70k SUV is the ride of voice for soccer moms in your area then you live in an affluent area and I would imagine it's not out of the ordinary (or just a bunch of people trying to outdo one another). To the average joe, yeah people notice them...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Perhaps you live in an affluent area but even then it's probably just an observatory bias because you own one. These vehicles (Tahoe, Burb, Yukon, XL) are less than 1.5% of annual car sales in the US. I still think full-size SUV's are sort of an f-you macho mobile and most, especially shiny...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Yes, as per above, I realize that the Denali is not/no longer AWD. I was confused with the previous generation... or just confused. If money was no issue I would definitely get the Denali but it's a massive price increase from the SLE, SLT, to Denali- it's about a $10,000 increase per trim...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Lol- I don't think there is anything really modest or discreet about driving a 5,500lb Tahoe.

    New 17 Yukon

Looks awesome man. SLT is a great trim. How long did it take to clay and wax? That's a lot of paint to cover!

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Yeah.... I was just looking into it this morning and it looks like the Denali isn't AWD only. Maybe that was just the previous generation. I have full-time 4wd right now in my 4Runner Limited and I don't like that I can't drive in 2wd and have a manual transfer case to engage 4wd when necessary.

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

I would actually not get the Denali because it has full-time 4wd so I guess that means Premier.

Thinking of moving from Escalade to Yukon Denali

I personally think that's terrible but to each their own. On the flip side, stuff like that done by people like you are covered under powertrain warranty for 5 years. Most rentals are only a year old so there's probably a few years of warranty and hopefully any problems would arise during that...

*Potential Owner* What do you love about your Tahoe?

How are the quality of the cloth seats both comfort, material quality, and durability? I am realizing that, maybe not in the case of the Tahoe, the Yukon SLE is very well equipped and you can add on luxury/convenience package that has nicer wheels, grille insert, power liftgate etc and save...

Hilarious! I saw your kijiji ad for the wheels! I'm in NS too. Awesome looking truck!

I forgot to ask: I am assuming that was a pre-tax price, right? Also, where are you located?

    Prices Paid

Yeah that's what I mean- the discounting is substantial and I think it skews depreciation. I've concluded it might be best to buy something gently used ie 2016 with 15-20000miles or late in the model year and get better financing. Obviously logical but the savings potential are more apparent. I...

    Prices Paid

Do you guys think that's why the depreciation rate (especially first year) is so terrible for these? Depreciation rate is based on MRSP but clearly no one ever pays that and get sometimes $10k+ off MRSP for the non-base trims. After the huge hit on first year depreciation, years 2-5 don't seem...
