George in all seriousness I assume you are driving North? In these temperatures (-6 this am behind enemy lines near Chicago) it is a life threating situation. If you are traveling with your family I would get it fixed.
Welcome and nice find. I had the same GMT800 it was earlier 2000. MUCH more interior space than my current 2019 K2. Had 256K on it when I passed it on. New owner was driving up and down the midwest/east coast states pulling a trailer. I miss that truck!
