Looking at getting a new AGM battery from Les Schwab.

Installed a battery disconnect and checked for parasitic draw. Only 4-5mah (not connected in photo) so it seems ok. I just have to leave the lights off when I parn it, and disconnect the battery when I leave it for 3 weeks at a time.

    Battery Suggestions

I wonder if an alternator upgrade would help charge agm batteries? I imagine it wouldn't be plug and play anyway.

Looking at getting a new AGM battery from Les Schwab.

I didn't want to, but I picked up the red top 34/78. It was the only side post AGM in stock. Voltage was only 12.2v prior to hooking up. Charged it at 10a overnight and it's floating at 12.8 now. Fingers crossed its a good one.

Noted. The Schwab AGM is definitely the same as a hand full of others though.

Yeah, easily the same. <rolleyes> Thanks for padding your post count with nonsense though

Thanks! I wonder if Johnson Controls (Clarios) also makes the AGM batteries at Autozone and Schwabs? I've read so many negative reviews on recent Optimas I think I might go with the house brand. I cant find anything online regarding the ones sold through Schwabs, so I might just get it and post...

Looking at getting a new AGM battery from Les Schwab.

Again, I'm aware. My ONLY question is are the rebranded AGM batteries any better or worse than the recent Mexican Optimas? I'm really trying to be polite, but that's the only question I'm asking, and the only answer I'm asking to hear.

Looking at getting a new AGM battery from Les Schwab.

I'm aware they don't make they're own batteries, thanks. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the Grey scwab branded one vs the optima? No big audio, but I do have a cb with a 100w Amp. Engine runs when I'm doing anything.

Looking at getting a new AGM battery from Les Schwab.

Ive ran my battery down once before and recently left my truck sitting for 3 weeks with a leaking radiator. Now my battery doesnt hold a charge for a week. I'm short on cash so I'll be putting a battery on my account at Les Schwab here in the PNW. Is anyone familiar with the Les Schwab branded...

    Rear HVAC broken blend door

Today I pulled the interior trim to swap the blend door motors on my rear HVAC in my '04 Yukon. Ive found that in addition to the motor not working, the temp blend door is actually broken and dangling in the housing. Does anyone have a part number, link, or anything else to help me fix this? I...

    4WD Tahoe LT Question

Check transfer case fluid often. Careful with the drain and fill plug, they are aluminum and very soft. Pull the fill plug first, if you drain it and cant pull the fill plug you're screwed.

    Guess What’s In My Radiator

Green coolant isnt the end of the world, but oil in your coolant (and more importantly coolant in your oil) IS. Drain all fluids and replace radiator ASAP. I prefer external oil and ATF coolers for this reason. Running like this will kill the crank and rod bearings REALLY quick.

    Caliper piston material

Not everyone live in Indiana. Come drive highway 101 where we do take corners at 70 and then tell me what you think.

    Caliper piston material

Or you're towing down hill in Colorado. Im just saying, that is the reason brake calipers come with phenolic pistons.

    Caliper piston material

Phenolic pistons insulate the high temps from the brake fluid. Personally I would rather have phenolic.

NP246 Auto 4wd Transfer Case Owners Beware!

Mine did the same thing anda busted a hole in the case side after toasting the bearings and chain. My fix was an NP241 swap.

    NP241 swap

A little before and after with my CB installation. Without the center console, I was able to finally install my RM Italy linear amp. Its a KL203-P 100W piece that allows 10W intput, so I dont need to mod the radio to 2W output. Radio and amp are both running off the old powers and grounds that...

    NP241 swap

Original rear shaft was reused. Aside from the shifter and front shaft, the NP241 is a direct swap mechanically speaking.

    NP241 swap

Working great. Drove it out on the dunes with no problem. I wont be doing anything to dress it up other than maybe a knob with an engraved shift pattern.

    NP241 swap

More damage after digging further in; Pressure plate bearing went dry, jammed up and broke the ear off. Ear broken in two. Preasure plate spun and and ate into clutch fork.

    NP241 swap

Transfer case studs did not want to come out by double nutting them. I was able to get 3 out but mangled one of those with vise grips. Instead I will be using six of the NP246 case half bolts.
