another warranty issue with the wife's '21

i Have this same issue... Is this a sensor in the exhaust system or further up in the engine compartment. It is annoying but not a showstopper. I'd fix it myself if I could fine explicitly where it is...

    '23 down; massive oil leak | suv's don't get lz0's?

It's no different than buying a highly touted top-of-the-line appliance, lawn mower, or yacht. It can be embellished as the best of the best but has zero to do with how its supported. I have Wolf and Subzero appliances in my home. When I called for service about a year ago on my range? 6 weeks...

    '23 down; massive oil leak | suv's don't get lz0's?

Nah.... I bought this vehicle because it the last decent diesel SUV out there along with the size of vehicle that met my needs. If Lexus made a Diesel big SUV, you could bet I would have taken a hard look at it too. This is the 1st GM vehicle I've owned since the 1990's. While a lot more...

Advice on what to do with barely used off-road tires?

Like most anything used... we think they are worth more than they really are. They are only worth what someone will pay at the time they need to go. Get what you can get and move on.

    '23 down; massive oil leak | suv's don't get lz0's?

None of what is stated above applies to, or is implied to translate to, dealership/service expectations or experiences.......

21 suburban 2wd rear end fluid capacity

They don't give information because they don't WANT you to do it yourself. I have vehicles where they won't even tell you what fluid is spec'd so you won't try to search it down and change it yourself. It's probably stuff you can buy at Wal Mart too! All mfg.'s are just trying to make things...

6.2 gas vs. 3.0 Duramax, which one to buy?

I've had a Ram Cummins, A Grand Cherokee Diesel, a Jaguar Diesel, and this LM2 diesel since 2005, and have never had a DEF poor quality issue. I've used WAL MART DEF the whole time. Once I had DEF error that was not a showstopper, but it was a software/ sensor programming issue... But not bad...

    '23 down; massive oil leak | suv's don't get lz0's?

Do they actually think they bought Lexus service? I’ve had both and I know the difference and expectations ……

6.2 gas vs. 3.0 Duramax, which one to buy?

Well ya..... But try to actually find an available Dmax.. They are still as rare as hens teeth.

    Extended Warranty?

The flaw in the above statement is that your potential for high dollar repairs goes up pretty exponentially after year 5. Stuff just stops working or starts falling apart, and many people just let these things go if they are too expensive or are not show stoppers since it's an "old" vehicle. The...

    Diesel Cap

This is true, but I have seen them put RUL nozzles on diesel pumps because the service center didn't know any better. My JAG Diesel has an ingenious flap that will only accept proper diesel nozzles. Won't allow anything else to enter....

New ride....should I let the dealer apply a ceramic coating/clay bar treatment?

You certainly don't have too, but this is a big vehicle to properly wax a few times a year. I must say, I did have it coated and pretty much 3 years later is has held up well and beads water like new. It really depends on how much time you have and how hard you want to work on it....

    Dead again…

If something is going wonky and throwing a lot of light/codes and everything else was working fine, the battery is always a good place to start. Load test it and know quickly and correctly that this is or is not a 1st issue. All vehicles today are highly susceptible to low voltage issues and...

    Extended Warranty?

Yep, I wouldn't be as concerned about the powertrain. Ther are plenty of other things than can go wrong and are much more possible....IE Air suspension, power running boards, any infotainment issue, Sunroof issue, Etc. Any one of these would pay for the whole warranty at one time and you'd...

How much trust do you have in the 3.0?

Drove it on 3 2800-mile trips. Not a peep out of it. Saved my a$$ in IAN last year (about this time!) as all stations were out of gas, but I found diesel with no lines as I evacuated alone in torrential rain on Alligator Alley to Ft Lauderdale 250 miles the Day of the storm. If you ever needed...

    Engine dies at 50%+ throttle

That's actually complete horse puckey.... Most all DEF comes from the same bottlers and the same hole in the ground. Wal mart DEF is fresher and identical content as "peak" and they turn it over by the skid loads weekly. I've seen Peak and other brands sitting on dusty shelves that was over a...

    Strike??? Thoughts, insights, predictions.

Except the parts flow will dry up and suppliers will have to lay off with a sudden stop in demand. GM and others won't buy parts unless they have a paid home to go to... so its not that simple....

    Adaptive air ride question

The way I look at it...if I don't use it then I must have gotten a truly great vehicle and possibly should hang on to it longer. If I do use it, I know that the coverage will get me thru the time period that I normally keep a vehicle anyways. I've wasted money on worse things, and a couple of...

    Block heater

There is no logical reason this vehicle NEEDS to be plugged in, unless it's going to be -20 for days.... with 0W-20, thick oil isn't an issue, and it warms up faster than any vehicle I've owned....

    Strike??? Thoughts, insights, predictions.

You won't be able to afford too. If all this goes thru with the UAW, avg price of a vehicle will bump 100K most likely.....100k?? I'll buy a Loaded Highlander and keep it 10-15 years. I won't own many more vehicles and crap like this will insure it.....

    DEF level sensor issue

I guess you would have to get more data points of reference. 1 gallon per 1000 miles sure seems excessive to me unloaded. I maybe have gone thru 9 gallons max in 25K miles. all is working fine....

    DEF level sensor issue

That sounds excessive. I've only put in 3 and I'm at 25K miles.

    DEF level sensor issue

I dump in a 2.5 every oil change (Appx 6-7K miles) and this seems to always put me in the 1/4 to 3/4 range all the time. Not towing.
