It isn't about "being covered" ....it's about dependability. I don't care that I'm "covered" if at any time on a 2000-mile trip this thing could lose its cookies. There's a reason why the duramax forum on this site only has 150 Entries (and the majority are not show stoppers.) and the other...
Well for this guy... Ya it has no value....
But for the majority of "normal" customers buying a vehicle it's just another data point that would help persuade or dissuade them from considering that vehicle further. Not the final say, but certainly matters if it shows a lot of negatives. They...
Would you rather see one that made sense with a mixture of dealer and DIY services or just trust "I took really good care of it" when looking at a used vehicle?
Also, not every dealer participates in CarFax so it isn't just automatically there if you went there....
It will tow it....it just ain't gonna look pretty. You can spend a bunch of extra money on hitch enhancers, WD and the like. But having air ride solves this neatly and perfectly every time. If you tow, it's at least a nice to have if not a need to have. Levels my 5K TriToon out perfectly.
From what I understand the sensor is more like a "Sonar" and not a "Float" type level sensor. this it can be influenced easily high or low and is in exacting at best.
I dump a Wally world 2.5 in every 7500 miles roughly, and I've never been low and never been full....
I was driving a 6.2 rental Surburban last week with about 5700 miles on it. The oil monitor was below 25%. I'm sure it had never been changed since being delivered from the factory. Sad. it was a very nice vehicle and deserved to be taken care of.
As far as your story goes, I'd only accept a...
It would be good to know if this is factually true, as this day is going to come at some point. May be mildly interested in upgrading the last year the diesel is in these vehicles.
Wouldn't surprise me really if 2025 was it......
I knew about it; it was 100 percent complete nonissue for us. Has a longer life than I'll ever keep the vehicle. Benefits you get between zero and 150 to 200,000 miles are vastly more beneficial than worrying about a belt change that you may never do.
I had their tune on my Jeep eco diesel, and it was definitely a noticeable improvement. But I'm not that unhappy with the LM2 and probably wouldn't mess with it even if they had an application available. Just not worth risking the 6/100 warranty over.
It definitely sounded great and moved right a long, but the instant mileage meter was always around 12-14 MPG. I surely did enjoy it.... But was glad to get home to the Dmax. Filled it up today for the 1st time in 15 days and have been on the go every day. Like that part.....
I buy new and keep 6-7 years. I see how they are acting after my extended warranty gives out. If they are trouble free, they hang around a little longer. If they got problems, they are gone. Not going to have to many more cars in my lifetime, so getting a new one here or there is one of my last...
Rented this 24 Tahoe Premier on a 4-day vacation. I will say, a very nice vehicle. Great ride and performance. There is just nothing like a big vehicle like this for hauling stuff and people. Still makes me a believer in this platform......
The cheapest time to buy it is w/in the 1st 60 days of purchase. Period. It's also long behind you by the time it comes in to play and you will pay much more 3 years later and get no more coverage. If it helps me get thru 6-7 years with this vehicle, whether used or unused, I got my money vs...
Overall very happy.... much smoother ride and not near as harsh..
You can just tell a quality tire. Will get a good bath soon but raining quite a bit lately!
Sam's club did an excellent job, 3 men ganged up on it with 2 changers and balancers and I was out of there in 35 min. All in for 1180.00...
This really still should not happen. Unless you are only driving a mile a day, normal usage should keep it charged. If you let it set for weeks at a time, that may be another thing, but if you use it.... it should keep it fully charged. If you live in hot temps all the time you may be getting to...
Ended up going with the Pirelli's at Sams club. They were 50.00 a tire cheaper than Defenders, had a 100.00 a set rebate, and free installation/balance.
VS Discount tire they were 600.00 cheaper than if I bought defenders. Discount is getting too big for their britches, charging 92.00 for...
Can this factually happen, or did they just buffalo you into replacing things that may not be needed? If done early enough, should you need new rotors?
Unless you are really ******* them, I'd say this is pretty early. I expect mine to go at least 60K plus. My last Grand Cherokee was at 90 K and the brakes were still good.
I can't really believe the monitors are that far off.... If they are then it deserves a good explanation, or an independent...
If you drive say 2-3K a year or have a seasonal vehicle and use modern synthetic oils, there is zero logic in changing it just because "It's been a year"
I've went 2 years on seasonal vehicles and half the time that oil is as clean as it went in, in gas vehicles.
This is about the most "Un-Dieselly" quietest diesel I've owned, and I've owned plenty. I've had many guests ride in ours and they are SHOCKED it is a diesel and said they would have never suspected that, otherwise....
Air suspension or at least rear air bag support is helpful to mandatory if you are towing anything with decent weight. These things are sprung too softly otherwise.....
I tow a 5k Tritoon and without air it would really sag in the rear.
