    There is not a captive nut. Tim took my B pillar off so that he could reach behind the frame and hold the backing plate in place.

    2x this! Although I think mine came apart at the firewall, it refused to come out of the back of the compressor. And I ended up with everything new, except the evaporator bc that was the only thing that didn't show a leak. I even have a new blend door box.
