    Gear swap from a 4.30 to a 4.10. Didnt like the long 2wd DS vibes at 100mph or so, and made the gearset whine by racing a few times within like 20 miles of installing them....and they were too noisy to live with forever so here i am.

    I dont believe a timing chain would cause the issues you describe. I would replace any suspect sensors.

    I believe the pump is directly related to the rear ride height. Meaning if the ride height sensors are reading level, the computer thinks there is no adjustment needed and therefor the compressor wont turn on. A battery disconnect wont hurt anything, and no it wont mess with security.

    15+v will fuck your battery up. Sounds like your voltage regulator is on the fritz.
