Camaro SS, track trips, build pics etc.

This first pic is off RSMs facebook page. I thought some would find it useful. Got the main hoop made and some simple flat bar brackets welded on to hold the intercooler. The 90 degree bends here are stainless and were found on ebay for 20 bucks. No way I could have made a bend that nice so I...

Not sure, I already hauled the front frame off to scrap and didnt weigh it. Based on my bicep meter i estimate it to weigh 50 pounds (mine was trimmed and will be lighter then stock). Ive also seen someone else say they weighed it to be around there (65) also. New metal I figure all said and...

Made some progress with the pipe bender. I selected a 1 5/8" 16 gauge steel. This is easy to crush when bending it so you have to take your time and bend some, then move down the pipe and bend some more. That's why the bends look more rounded. Got a few pieces tacked on just to see how it all...

Me too. Nice ride. Ive got 4 plates at the 4 corners tacked on, and 2 successful bends under my belt. This is gonna turn out nice.

Im actually on a small layoff from work which is why im getting stuff done. Ive started on the tubular front end, basically disassembled everything from the turbo forward and chopped two feet off the front of the car. I have plates for the frame rails but havent selected my tubing yet. Next...

Fuse Box Relocate. First let me say I have 3 afternoons tied up in this. It was not difficult but slow. You will strip every piece of loom and electrical tape off the car so be prepared for sticking fingers and a mess to clean up. Let me also add that I've already removed some audio wiring in...

Slow progress. Bought this little dealie. Spot weld cutter. Works pretty good. Lets see what else I can F up. Back seat armrests kicked my butt. Not removing the rest of the brackets because they will get cut out with the tubs. Mount back from powder coat. Quick mock-up, no bolts in the...

Removed the mismatched coolers and added a second matching cooler, all new brackets, and got lucky and only had to modify one AN line even though i changed their orientation. Getting closer. Added some cross bracing and its off to the powder coat shop.

New toy: Took my 6x6 plates and drilled holes: Needed about 45" of pipe. The old driver door bar needed just a little trimmed off. Plan to add some gussets and do powder coat this week coming up. Test fit....

Still accumulating stuff, no time to work on it due to having some paying jobs i need to finish first. We are at 1 month wait on the cage/tubs, maybe i will get lucky and get it next week. Quick recap, on the to-do list: 10 point chromoly cage with swingouts, rear wheel tubs, rear mount...

    EBay drop kit question

Im picky about what parts i buy that are cheap. Just put an alternator on my DD Honda, went $80 ebay chinese, works fine. No big deal if it goes out and I dont pay labor to swap it. For ball joints/hubs for the Yukon I bought name brand expensive ones. Dont want that part to fail and dont wanna...

    Transmission shifting hard

Load determines shift firmness, MAF determines load. If the trans is being commanded to shift firm, the MAF is the likely culprit. A scan tool will help determine this.

    EBay drop kit question

I was responding to the notion that "everything" from ebay is chinese and/or junk, and the idea that everything brand name, is not, well either. Which is far from the truth. Nah sorry, they dont "hound you" for not leaving feedback. That clearly shows your disdain for ebay for whatever reason...

    Bilstein Shocks 4600 vs 5100

4600 is for stock or lowered, 5100 is for lifted. Which are you? Buy the right shock. Might solve all your problems.

    EBay drop kit question

I hate that dumbness of the people who think everything ebay is chinese, and everything name brand is not. The DJM crap is probably chinese too. The chinese shit has no overhead, thats where the cost savings come in. Tons and tons of companies operate like this. Wake up and stock being ignorant...

Noise steering drag? Front differential? Auto 4WD

Not to bust your balls here, but you show a great lack of understanding of how bearing assemblies (specifically tapered rollers) work. When a fastener holds a bearing assembly together, torque of the fastener is irrelevant. The force of the fastener as related to bearing drag is ALL that...

Camaro SS, track trips, build pics etc.

Good news. We all know times change, and as much hard work and money as we spend, and when we take time to document it we want it to reach as many people as possible. With that being said you FB users can come visit the new page. My plan is to organize pics and info in an easy to find setup and...

    Fuel Trims Crazy???

Quickly looking at it, trims seem normal at idle, upon light acceleration they go pretty negative meaning you are running rich so its pulling fuel. Something else seems off.

Big converter issues. Figured why not go ahead and add the deep pan. Adds like 4Q 16oz more then a stock pan. Not gonna get super technical, but a GM PS pump can put out 12/1300 psi under full load. AN hose is rated around 350psi with a burst strength of like triple that. PTFE AN hose has a...
