So the LAST non-running update.....as I've indicated, I've been having some tuning issues with the car. Quite frankly, it wont hardly run, wont hardly idle, barely starts sometimes, and wont rev clean in park. I have been trying everything I can to figure it out, and nothing I change makes a...

Most likely, I would need two custom length studs or bolts with the heads cut off. Thats what I will do if this doesnt hold.

    Helper airbags for rear

Ive got the airlift inside my DJM lowering springs. Love the control they add when weight is added or towing.

Well I figured I was tuning this week but it just didnt work out that way. While working on the idle tuning i noticed the oil psi showed zero. I honestly didnt think much of it because the motor was very quiet and I knew i used a chinese sending unit. When the turbo started blipping oil out of...

Intercooler showed up and I had to do a quick mockup just for fun. Brackets fit nice. The pic above with the turbo mounted.....it was just barely bolted on. Here's why. Not thrilled I had to pull it back off. Here is my solution. I red locktited them into the flange, time will tell if it...

Didn't get a ton done this weekend. Had a buddy who needed his 10 bolt rebuilt so I did that for him as a favor. I did get to do a few things, the kit came in late Saturday evening minus intercooler. Randy wrapped the hot-side with fiberglass wrap. I threw some high heat paint on it. Whether it...

Had to tie up some loose ends, needed some coolant line for the radiator connections but got all that handled so I figured I would go ahead and fill up the fluids since it will be starting up soon enough. I plan to run Rotella oil but went ahead and used some pennzoil this time and i plan on...

So we left off with the radiator mounted but taped to hold up top. I originally ordered an LT1 top cover because my plan was to keep the radiator in the stock position, and this was the cheapest route to do that. Now that I moved the radiator I had no game plan. The radiator has moved down...

Yeah I've lifted the car many times by that upper support. Don't guess I can do that now.

Quick pic of the fuel pump wiring. All the way to the left is a fuse and relay for the trans cooler fan, that's been there. I add the two fuse holders to the right. I also mounted the fuel pressure regulator and am currently waiting on a couple more fittings and that will be 100% complete. I...

Coolant leak at rear of engine

Mine leaked also. Plus there is a coolant steam port block-off (on the cylinder head) that will leak as well.

    Abs module

No, ABS looks for all wheels to be spinning the same speed, it doesnt know or care what size they are. Your tire size is important for your speedometer, but thats in the engine PCM and it completely separate.

Don't have a lot of pics this update but I did get some stuff done on my two days off. Basically I started with the intake, I scrapped my L shaped throttle cable bracket and made a new one that utilized the front two intake bolts instead of the previous one. It is also as far over as it can be...

Anyone add washers between flexplate and torque converter?

Yes you can do it, ive done it multiple times. If its being a real pain I will add a touch of black silicone to make the one side sticky to hold onto the flexplate while i get it in position.

Quick update, I was on the hunt for an intake and my buddy (thanks Randy C) had an LS2 laying around for cheap so I went and grabbed it. I decided to give it a "fast" type look and only paint the upper shell. Just went with the same graphite color i been using. Had to use an alternative set...

Dont you have a home to go to little ******.....guess he likes hanging around race cars. Swapped the trans AN fittings to 90 bends, and got under the car and attached the lines. They were barely long enough at 10ft. Added a ground and am running a 12v+ turn on wire for the fan up front...

Driver bucket I finished off with 22G sheetmetal. I painted the bottom black and sides red to make it appear somewhat factory. 16g center panel, 2.5 tubes of seam sealer, and yes it is strong enough for me to stand on it. Total weight that went back IN the car is about 10. So this saves me 10...

First thing first I had to finish the 4.10 to 3.73 gear swap. Here is the 3.73 mounted to the Strange lightweight steel spool. Before final assembly I inspected the axles closely, I also measured engagement just due to curiosity. No damage and everything looked good. Once the rear end was...

    Pinion noise?

Lots of shadetree mechanics do it that way. I dont...i would if i was in a bind but then again Ive built 20 to 30 rear ends so I know what Im doing and what to look/feel for. My point was, you cant get a measurable amount of pinion drag without having the rear disassembled. You might as well...

Yukon Down, AWD delete, headers, converter etc...

Funny these bearings look basically identical to the hubs on our Durango. Yep they are splined all the way through and its a 2wd, and they are OEM.....meaning 2wd and 4wd ARE interchangeable in that model. If the bearing fails in ANY 2wd youre fuc#ed and the wheel falls off.....as long as the...
