Here's another thought.....
You shouldn't really jack with your wife's ride....its a lose/lose. 1. She won't notice the perf increase and 2. if you break it she'll be unhappy.
She'll be more fun if you buy her a $500 necklace as opposed to buying her a $500 tune.
Then she won't mind when you do...
Diablo.
That way you can set the tune for your preferences and flash it back for the wifey.
Diablo has tested tunes and its nice when its in your control.
And you can swap between perf tunes and MPG tunes for long drives.
This is from their website...
Not bad for $365.....and you can play with...

OK....so it sounds like more of a comfort thing, I get that.
I just thought I read it was some kind preventative measure to avoid some breakage.
Something about oil in the lifters?
$600 for a MAF based Perf Tune sounds kinda high, especially if you're not changing any hardware.
Ask em for a...
I don't really get it. Why do I want to turn DOD off?
Isn't DOD part of the equation that nets me 27mpg on the highway @ 75mph?
So why would I want to turn it off?
To go faster? My sub is pretty fast as it is. RST, L86 with a 10L90
I smoke every Raptor I run across as well as those Merc AMG...
Good to know.....
Glad your 20 will fit with minimal spacing.
The barrel clearance on the 17s is way tight!
I bumped and scratched the caliper too many times trying to fit the Z71 wheel.
Its hard to try to delicately lift a 75lb wheel over the rotor and caliper without a bump.
Nice looking...
Thats why I went with that wheel as now I have a caliper to show....before it was ehh, may as well go military style and hide that caliper.
This is going to be offtrack.....
The L86/10L90 set up is the 6.2 Gen V direct injection engine - LT1......Put in the 19+ Denalis, RSTs, and High...
Yeah.....I think so too.
Not my original choice but happy with the outcome.
I hope it performs as well as it looks.
Should be done within a few days. And will report back.
Then I can move on to the engine.....
I might change there as well.....I may have figured out how to do the L86/10L90 swap...
Wheels fit fine....
If Dan doesn't buy them I will. I would like them powdered first though.
**********************************************************
Test fitted this fuel wheel today...worked no problema.
Ordered for a 2020 Silverado. 18x9 ET20
And good spoke spacing to highlight the...
Yeah,
I truly wish GM Performance would offer a 10L90E controller that integrates with earlier models.
All they need to do is build an integration box, probably a few months work for them.
The older models would be faster, able to tow more easily, and more fuel efficient, but it would just kill...
Entering Final Assembly....
They tell me my wheels are in. OMG
So I should have these things on by Tuesday-Weds.
No stickers yet though. :-( The company is in LA, I'm in Orange County (about 40mins), shipped on Tuesday, Still not here.
I really think these calipers would look great machined and...
Bro,
You have the right ride....6.0L and don't denalis have auto-leveling.
I bought this sub a few years back to go on Jet-Ski camping trips (where they don't have hotels).
6.2, 10spd and it hauls butt.
Its only a 1/2 ton but it has auto leveling and when I realized it could easily tow my 25ft...
Look at that boat just dwarf that avalanche and not even sagging, even looks jacked up.
What's that weight like 7Klbs + and then a 2K trailer?
Nice drives.....
He's got a rock buggy in there, I betcha.
Thats the 6 spoke yes? They make that in a 17" too that fits.
It would be nice to have a library of wheels that clear.
I wonder if these RAM wheels would clear...18x8 ET19.
Same bolt pattern
I just think its a nice tough looking wheel.
LOL....That 5.3/3.42 combo must have been crying it eyes out going up grades with a 28ft trailer.
Every tow vehicle needs needs to be tuned to the application.
Keep working on it....I'm sure you'll get there.
You should be towing in comfort, not getting bounced around.
One thing I do pay...
So was I. But I still used 5100s....and airbags....they are cheap and I consider them a safety item.
Bouncing is a dampening issue-shock absorbers, meaning compression and rebound aren't working.
So you need shock absorbers front and back and I wouldn't tow a trailer that big w/o...
Off track....
What I really long for is a 10L90 but they only may standalone controllers (BCMs) for F**king Jeeps....God I hate that.
But 1st gear is way lower like 4.7 compared to 4l60 which is 3.06
And the gears are much closer.
In the 4L60 1:1 is 3rd gear
In the 10L90 1:1 is 7th gear...
With your engine you will never get close to breaking a performance rebuilt 4l60.
With 5 pinions it becomes a 4l65.
And you would HATE a 4L80. The rotating mass is much heavier than a 4l60 and it will rob TQ and slow your Tahoe down.
I would run that with a turbo making 900hp, but under 600hp a...
