How much are the brackets themselves? I might be able to afford this upgrade if I can accumulate it a piece or two at a time, lol. Keep us posted on your progress. I've yet to see in one single place a complete parts list and build log.
EDIT: found this...
To clarify, I was referring to the device you plug into the wiring harness that REPLACES the O2 sensor. The O2 sensor is left in the pipe to plug the hole.
Hey yeah, let's redefine the meaning of words to suit ourselves. I guess what I was talking about was a "spoofer" then, lol. Learn...
There's no point. Newer ECUs aren't fooled by resistors. They actually look for the readings from the downstream O2 sensors to follow the upstream ones in some predefined way. Resistors read as malfunctioning cats. Even when ECUs were "dumber", the simulators weren't 100% reliable. I...
Top tip #2. When searching eBay for center caps, don't be afraid to search ended listings and contact the seller in case he has another set. There are currently two sellers with plain centers for these. The more prolific one sells them for $90 a set. But there's another at $50, who is...
Pardon the hastily taken photo of my dirty truck. But the wheels and tires went on today. I still have to get plain center caps. But I love how these look.
I FINALLY got my new wheels and tires mounted. They're Escalade Platinum edition 22s, custom powder coated a color I call hyper grey. The Caddy center caps will get replaced soon. And ignore how dirty the truck is. Now all I need to do is add lowness (and trim my bushes...sheesh!).
I use Evap-o-rust, which they carry at Wal-Mart and Harbor Freight. Just let it soak for a few days and the rust is gone. Unlike acid, it doesn't touch the bare steel. The stuff is a bit expensive (~$10/gal), but can be reused a bunch of times.
Top tip...If you run across a set of these wheels, even curbed, you might be able to make a killing on the chrome inserts if they aren't damaged. The best price I've found for new ones is $80 EACH. Used are about $50 EACH on eBay. That's $350-$560 for a single wheel!!! Before I bought these...
Here is the original thread on corral.net where I first learned of it. My results are posted on page 6 (same userID):

Keep in mind, that car was dual exhaust. So the frequency in each pipe is...
iamdub beat me to it...sort of. The term for what's in that photo is a quarter-wave attenuator, which is a specific type of Helmholtz chamber tuned to damp sound at a specific frequency. You have to know the engine RPM where you want the damping to occur. And you calculate the length of the...
I didn't get them all assembled. But I had time to finish one. I'll get better ones in the sun tomorrow.
I'm really liking the color. I'm calling it hyper grey.
Okay. I just picked them up about an hour ago. Honestly, they look noticeably darker than hyper silver. I'd say they're halfway between silver and gunmetal. I actually like it a lot. I haven't reinstalled the chrome strips yet. Had to go back to work. But here are the pics I took in the sun to...
I went with hyper silver. I chose that because I knew what it would look like, and like how it looks. It also will help resale if I change my mind about the wheels some day. I had to move quickly, because the tires on my 20's are bald! Once I have the new wheels and tires mounted, I may...
Cleetus! I love his channel.
That car is known as "Leroy". It's still a Corvette. It just doesn't have bodywork any more (it was already like that when they bought it).
They visited a wind tunnel to analyze the drag and experiment with fixes. Ultimately, they found a few things that helped...
The resistors came with mine, packaged in a separate plastic bag. They're a small rectangular black block that has a single female plug matching the small connector you referenced. They come with 3M adhesive tape on them. I just cleaned a place on the back of the light housing with alcohol...
iamdub, I think you nailed it. I'm thinking the same thing.
I'm actually torn about the chrome on the truck, too. One reason I picked these wheels is that the chrome strips match the chrome on the truck now. But if I ever change the trim, I can remove the strips and change them to something...
Agreed. I thought they'd look better with the chrome strips. But they looked kinda weird. I think it's because there was no silver lip to define the boundary between the wheel and tire. Just seven chrome strips that end in blackness.
I have that exact set on mine. I love them.
They are very bright. I've tinted them since I took that photo. And they're still pretty bright. I've had them for a few months, and haven't had any issues.
One thing to note. They are shaped to fit Escalade appliques. If you don't swap...
