I doubt the dealer would replace it. It is just a poor design.
I thought about the knife dragging method, could probably protect the surrounding area with painters tape. I'm just a little worried that would end up making it a serrated edge...maybe protect with tape and hit it with some Emory...
I just got into the passenger seat for the first time and the grab handle has an extremely sharp edge, seems like its where the two halves of the handle come together. Is that normal? Does anyone have a good way to knock it down without damaging the handle? I almost cut my hand on it:
6.2L Z71 about 250 miles on the odometer, looks like I am getting low 16's mpg on my commute (75/25 highway/backroads). Not too bad.
It is my first tank of gas though and i am suspicious my ignorant sales person filled it with regular instead of premium... Filled it myself for the first time...
So, I'll go..
-- ceramic tint on front windows (to 35% NC legal)
-- weathertech flaps
-- all weather mats (full set)
-- gave her a bubble bath
-- full wax (traditional liquid wax, nothing fancy like ceramic)
-- rain-x all around
And my shoulders are destroyed from all that wax-on wax-off...
My only complaint about the truck is the brakes... the first 50% isn't progressive. it feels like the time my F250 brakes overheated going down a mountain.
If i get on it, then it will stop hard, but its not confidence inspiring.
All the lights turn on just fine when opening the doors. Just not when opening the liftgate. Even the POS 2000 Jeep cherokee I had in college turned the interior lights on with the liftgate.
Thanks for the tip on the off button. I didn't know that was there, but I don't think that is the issue.
I have 2 questions:
1. What is supposed to go in the velcro straps behind the tire-iron in the rear cargo hidey-hole? (See picture)
2. The interior lights don't come on when I open the liftgate... they all come on normally when unlocking/opening the doors. Are they supposed to come on? If so...
Hopefully it is produced and on its way. The dealer should be able to get you a vin once it is produced and also send you the window sticker so you can confirm it was configured right.
I don't understand why GM doesn't have an online portal where you can look up the status code... my buddy...
My dealer didn't tell me crap. I had to call them and beg for info after about 6 weeks and only then did they tell me that my sales guy was promoted and I didn't get assigned to anybody else. The new sales guy begrudgingly gave me an order number and then apparently quit, because he never...
Well I went to go pick it up today.
No problems at all. No shipping damage or fitment issues, 5 miles on the odometer.
The only problem is the pollen. It was clean when I picked it up and it was covered in in a thick coating of toxic-green colored dust by the time i got it home. Folks in NC...
Ordered 12/26
TPW 02/28
Produced 02/28
I go to pick it up from the dealer tomorrow 3/31 (a solid month of transit time)
Z71 with the 6.2L, off road pkg, bucket 2nd row and sunroof -- Satin Steel/Black
There are dozens of articles on this. The US electrical generation capacity is over 4B kwh. Concensus seems to be that it would consume 25-30% of that generation capacity if all cars suddenly became electric.
Sorry, i wasnt actually complaining this time... i was excited that perhaps it indicated that their service department had serviced a vehicle in my name (meaning it had been delivered), otherwise why would an automated survey be sent out from the service dept.
"Thank you for choosing Sir Walter...
I just got a survey from Chevy asking me to rate my service visit from 3/28....
So maybe it has veen delivered? Of course no update from the dealer. I forwarded to my sales person and asked for info.
This is going to be like my Subaru airbag recall timeline...
Heard about it on the news in Q3 2016
Got a recall letter from the dealer in Q2 2017
Sold the car in 2018
Notified that a new airbag was finally available for installation in Q2 2021
I am not actually worried that much about that.
After thinking about it I know the car exists and that it is about 90 miles away. I have the window sticker and (other than the missing chips) it has all the things I wanted.
Just need a truck to drag it to the dealer.
