There is no signature block for the dealer or GM. There is just a signature block for the buyer. The dealer is not committing to anything on this form, the only thing signing this does is waive my legal rights.
No one will be able to sue because this waives your rights to legal action.
the form doesn't say that... its just a legal waiver.
so a year from now when they realize how much it will cost to fix all these vehicles they could just shrug and say "sorry, we aren't retrofitting these modules" and we will have no legal recourse.
Now they are trying to get me to sign this (Actually 2 of these, one for the parking sensors and one for the steering wheel). Why would I sign this, it doesn't do anything but waive my legal rights. It even says "your dealer will have the ABILITY" but not the obligation "to retrofit your...
I was thinking this too... there are several dealers in my area that are closer. They aren't offering any free oil changes or anything, but I am not sure if I will need them for the eventual module installation to enable the heated wheel and parking sensors.
Thanks for the well wishes. Honestly I am fortunate enough to not be hurting for money, but I hate being taken advantage of, it tears me up. I am really big on integrity. Normally I would just take my business elsewhere but this whole supply chain situation has me bent over a barrel.
Like you...
Honestly the guy was a magician. Forms were flying around and I was trying to ask questions and deflect paint protection and other addons... I don't remember signing that particular form. They do this every day and I do this every 10 years, clearly they took advantage of me.
I hate this crap, I...
So I just looked over the papers again. The loan paperwork is signed but the sales agreement is filled out but not signed (at least my copy isn't).. there is a line that says "I certify that I took possession of the vehicle on 3/25" which clearly didn't happen...
So.... yeah.... if I were a...
Just found this on Google reviews. Apparently talking with the GM won't help:
Check out this review of Sir Walter Chevrolet Company on Google Maps

I can scan and redact the contract if it helps, but I signed an "irriversable" purchase contract. It has the vin number etc... on it. I secured a loan with a bank through the dealer and have my first payment due on the 9th.
I dont believe i have a bill of sale but had to sign a "power of...
This is great advice.
So I will ensure
1. Warrenty and "free trials" etc begin when the keys are handed over.
2. I will write truthful negative reviews on the applicable sites and dealer survey.
3. Talk to the dealership Gen manager to "verify" all the "policies" they forced me into.
If...
I have been through 3 sales people since this started. So the original guy is long gone. I pulled out the signed build sheet but they said that did not include "other fees".
I think they have to start paying some kind of depreciation or fees on the car until I buy it, so obviously they want to...
So after ZERO communication for 3 months my sales person calls me yesterday and says I need to come in immediately to "fill out paperwork" because the tahoe will be delivered any day now.
I told them I would just do the paperwork when it comes in and they told me that the $1000 non refundable...
i haven't even taken delivery yet so i don't have any direct info (not even sure if the Tahoe has this kind of breaking system)... but I had issues with my Honda Accord auto breaking with oncoming traffic... talk about scary.
I took it to the dealer and they "re-aimed" the sensor and its been...
@selectsplat do you have an updated vinview map? I think my tahoe is on the same train and my vendor won't give me the time of day...
Called Chevy and they said the train is "in Virginia" which, apparently, is on the way to central North Carolina from Arlington?
So, i called Chevy for my weekly check-in and they told me it is on the train in Virginia...
interesting that it went from texas to virginia, but will then need to go south to North Carolina.
Does anyone have an east-coast rail map for GM transport? Would be interested to see how the...
Just asked my worthless dealer for an update and a screenshot of the VIN View. This is the kind of info I get from them. I havent told them that i know its on a train:
"Hey, there's not a page I an send you, but I've looked an there isn't any update other than it being sold to you ."
Mine was produced on 2/28 but sat in storage for 2 weeks for no real reason. Chevy told me it is on a train now. Supposed to be in NC on 3/25... I wonder if it is the same train?
I will ask for that letter.
Actually when I placed my order it said "no heated steering available" so I just assumed i would never get that feature. At least now I might some day get it...
Does anyone know what is involved in "installing a chip" later? I have never cracked open a module...
Called chevy today (instead of using the chat) and I (surprisingly) connected with a very nice woman who told me that it is now on a train headed for the rail yard in Walkerton, NC and is scheduled to arrive there on 3/25. She was wonderful.
My dealer emailed me about 20 mins later and told...
that sucks.
Every time I ask the dealer what the lead time is they say 12 weeks.
How long till my order is accepted = 12 weeks
How long until it is built = 12 weeks
How long until it ships = 12 weeks
effing annoying.
Still no movement. It's been stuck in a storage lit in Arlington for 2 weeks. How long does it usually take from end of production to when it ships from the factory?
The increased cost of fueling my vehicles is nothing compared to the looming overall cost of living increase that will be justified by sustained increased oil prices. EVERYTHING will get more expensive as this drags on... it happened back in 2007/8 and, now coupled with already accelerating...
