and here I am thinking it's small lol. seems like I have to clean it every weekend in order to fit the 2 main cars
got a crapton of stuff done for only 6 hours of work
first, new bulbs:
no more amber lights, both are red, although they are different shades of red which kind of annoys me
then...
first day in a long time where I haven't had any obligations with work or helping friends and stuff.... time to tackle cleaning the garage.
should hopefully have some updates today on deadener, rear hatch handle, getting rid of that amber bulb, etc, etc and am going to pick up my new box tomorrow
haha I felt lucky for about the first 8 hours
after that I was like maaaannnnn. it's the longest trip I've ever done nonstop.
I think I put 1300 miles total or so including some detours and missed exits
I'm bummed because we've had a ton of icy roads, but not very much snow yet :(
I really...
I like it just because it only costs $6 as opposed to $600+ for vinyl or something lol.
was able to do a little tuning on the doors today, but maaaaan was it cold and windy
finally had time to do my doors and pillars
still have to run the tweeter wires through the door grommets which is gonna be a pain, and add an amp for them, but man these 10" mids are LOUD right now. I love them
yeah yeah yeah I have red bulbs laying next to me, just too lazy so far lol
the eBay housings came with amber and red for some reason
Insurance is through National General
$750 for 6 months. whooooshh. has me thinking I might just go minimum cost.
my excellently built chinese ebay handle failed
ended up selling the rest of my audio stuff, my alternators, batteries, and big subs
just gonna do something small since that sunroof makes me uncomfortable
got our first snow of the year, and had to take some pictures for insurance so I could put full coverage on
Holds two 8" mids and has voltmeters and a bass knob and other cool stuff
managed to get the doors put in today
I've never heard this brand (Audio Legion) before, but I got both of the door panels and all of the speakers for basically $200, so we'll give it a go.
Tomorrow I just have to run my grounds, and make amp rack locations and I should be able to get them playing
thanks :) always fun to look back and see how far the thing has come
I'm trying to get my hands on a Ranch Hand front bumper, since I hate the Denali one
there's one locally for $899, and another for $350, but the second guy isn't responding even though his ad says "want to sell this...
whelp we're back into the 30s and 40s daily, and supposed to have snow Friday, so I need to get this beast up and running
tried to avoid using the big ole heaters, and got creative...
I'm liking the blacked out rims a lot more, just need to replace those ugly silver mirror pieces
hopefully...
Yep :)
to me the Denali feels a lot more powerful than the GXP (3600lb car with 5.3L v8)
when you stomp on the Denali, you feel shoved back into the seat
when you stomp on the GXP, you have to hold the steering wheel with both hands to prevent torque spin, but it doesn't really give you that...
haha nice. the 4.8L is one of the only GM engines I haven't owned yet
the fastest I've ever gone was about 130 in the GXP, but I got so scared about getting pulled over and getting reckless driving, so I try not to make a habit of it
yesterday I was on i65N and it was wide open with nobody...
mine had no problem making it to around 105 MPH before the noise from the wind guard was freaking me out enough to stop
we've also had my mom's Denali up past that as well
speedo readings only, I don't know how accurate they are, especially with me running oversized tires
took the ole girl for her first break in trip
about 1,000 miles round trip from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Crossville Tennessee, to pick up more audio crap I really didn't need.
learned a couple things
1) about 4 hours into the drive a check engine light came on
2) the sunroof bug/wind guard...
awwwhhh RIP
went to have my rims installed today and the ones I bought were all jacked up and the guy wouldn't risk putting bent rims on $1200 tires
I don't blame him, and gave him a $20 just for sharing the knowledge instead of doing it, but maaan I never even thought about rims being messed...
I'll be running a CES (Custom Electric) 390a hairpin alt, with 4 runs of 2/0 positive and negative, and a 120aH Veachium lithium.
gonna delete the front battery too
I haven't even really driven the truck yet, but I'm already considering getting one of the Axcess things for my Grand Prix now lol
by the time I get back home from work at 5:30, I only have like an hour of light left
managed to get the brush guard put on today
starting to get ready for winter ramming
lemme tell ya, that Denali bumper is a pain in the ass to work around
we ended up just pulling the entire bumper off to...
yeah I hate trying to fit the sawzall in there
I ended up slipping and cutting a bunch of my HVAC wires :(
thanks :)
I'm interested to see if I'll actually use these steering wheel controls now that I paid the $50 and effort to retain them lol
Yep! I've always used and probably always will...
