my 3 15 box was:
48" wide x 23.25" tall x 35" deep
my new box is:
49" wide x 23.25" tall x 36" deep
surprisingly, the 1" wider made a helluva time getting the battery box in
it pushed the box over enough that I could not load the battery in without rubbing my window. big no no - especially...
so my builder finished the box a lot quicker than I expected! I ran over to detroit to get it, and then had to recone a subwoofer that I blew previously
oh lol, of course it's the one that I literally was not expecting at all
It's called "Fuelly" on iPhone, and "aCar" on android
very easy to use, just enter stuff each time you fill up and it does the rest
Since I got this vehicle, I guess I never tested the windshield wiper fluid
went to use it the other day, and nothing happened
took a look, and I was shooting juice all over the garage
I noticed that my battery was all soaked, and then found out the line had failed at a fitting
so grabbed...
swapped back to my Sundown subs and made the switch from Korean to all Brazilian amps
much smaller footprint, less wiring, easier to fit
my rise doubled, and my power stayed basically constant, while my dB rose
Pretty disappointed with the clamping of the 18k, only seeing around 11,000w max:
got plenty of other amps to swap though. :)
I just met with my builder and dropped off a down payment for new doors (2 12s, 1 horn, 1 tweet per door) and then also a new box, going with 4 15s this time:
and I've...
yeah it sucks on the meter
like 151s sealed, 152s with the driver window down
one of these days I need to clamp my amp and then adjust a new box and subs accordingly
yeah last year when I had my midlife Denali sunroof crisis I was giving boxes away lol
had 3 built for like $300-$500 each and sold them for $100 each ;/
live and learn
current setup is getting nastier :)
I wanted to clamp the VFL 18k today but it was so damn cold (15 degrees before...
Haha yeah they're sweet subs :) I still have them and will probably throw them back in here once I get some clamped numbers.
I first remember seeing your stuff back when I also had 6 12s
on a whim over Black friday I picked up 4 VFL 18ks and 4 Godfather 15s D1
huge 4" coil subs and a lot more power on tap..
my head unit took a dump and I got a new one, but still having issues with Pioneer ground whine.
hopefully testing out the new setup tomorrow after work and deciding where...
I also replaced all of the OEM Bose speakers with aftermarket
SoundQubed QP-MR6.5 in the front doors
SoundQubed QS-SD25 Silk dome tweets in the pillars
DS18 Elite Z-354 3.5" mid ranges in the pillars
used MyCustomSpeakerPods ABS mold to get the job done:
and I am extremely impressed with the...
got some more work done this weekend
put a new brush guard on:
and then all the speaker grilles were rusted out, so my mom went to paint them
but the color ended up blue instead of grey
I said it looked horrible and needed redone, my parents seem to think my sister won't notice. so we have a...
eventually got my voltage figured out and started charging between 15.8v - 16.2v:
and got one video of the setup before I started pulling it all apart lol
taken after work one day so it was pretty much dark already :(
got the new setup in
3 Sundown ZV3U15s on two Wolfram 4500s @ 0.33 each (eventually) and a Brand X 270a alt and G30 Limitless Lithium battery
only have one amp hooked up while I work out some electrical gremlins regarding my charging voltage (charging at 15.2v but desire 15.6v - 15.8v)
if I...
ended up impulse buying some other subs, so it looks like I'll be going with 15s instead
I had this box built last year for my Denali, and ended up selling it before using it
so now I'm paying out the ass for another builder to do it this year lol
big financial mistake
anyways, got a cool...
took a little longer than anticipated, but we got the sound system worked out (mostly)
gained a little more trunk room!
doesn't sound too bad with just stock speakers either. we're working on a write up for how to bypass the Bose Amp, since we couldn't find any easy info on it
took a couple extra days, but we finally got the tint done
70% entire windshield, 15% front windows, stock GM tint on the rest
my vehicle is 50% entire windshield, 1% windows for reference
looks a lot darker at night, but it is a very nice trade off for tint and visibility otherwise
I'll get...
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
running boards are only for lowered vehicles and moldings are for never :P
I do think it has turned out really nice so far. amazing what some cheap rubber color coating can do to a vehicle.
I'm super excited to see what it'll look like with tint and a...
