New Style LED Headlights for 07-14 Yukon

Hi all: I've been searching with no success for different headlights for my '12 Yukon. What I want are ones that include an LED strip kinda like the '15+ Yukon (pictured). But all I can find are ones that mimic the Escalade headlight with a U-shaped strip below each lamp, which I don't...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It's not easy to find much detail on Hybrid differences. I found this: https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/tahoehybrid/2012.html Someone asked about the D-pillar trim. They look exactly like the Escalade ones. I had no idea there was an aero benefit to them. Cool.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I've read on here that the Hybrid had an aluminum liftgate, and that is the reason why the rear window was non-openable. If this is true, I would assume non-Hybrids had steel liftgates (where'd I put my magnet?). I'm curious to know if this is the case. And I don't see how the aluminum would...

    Dorman products

I've used them a few times, and not had any issues. Here's an example. I used to drive an '02 Expedition with the 5.4L V8. The OEM plastic intake manifold cracked at 150k miles. I replaced it with Dorman, which I found to be a better-made part than OEM. It was more heavily built, especially...

Now you just need to weld some sharp spikes onto it to really tear up the front of the "bullet" vehicle when it rear-ends you.

    What rotors do you recommend?

I used to have my rotors cryogenically treated. But now you can buy them that way from brakeperformance.com. They have plain, drilled, slotted, etc. And they offer black nickel coating to keep the unswept part of the rotor from rusting.

    Door handle fix?

The probably could. But if they're properly epoxied in, it wont be easy to get them out. I guess it depends on how much your time is worth.

    Wheel Finish Question

Well, I bought a set (better than what I pictured) that has two curbed wheels. So I'll be the guinea pig. I read somewhere that a wheel refinisher powder coats them black and paints silver over that to replicate the factory finish. Sure enough, without tires on them, they look like silver...

    Door handle fix?

Just to follow up... I just replaced one of my door handles when it broke. But it wasn't the inserts. It was the plastic surrounding the little metal arm that actuates the latch rod in the door that broke apart. I never found the little torsion spring that fits in that area. Swapping the...

    YouTube must save us Billions

I was an avid shadetree mechanic before YouTube. I had (and still have) service manuals for all my vehicles. To me, they complement each other. They don't compete. My perspective is that there are three kinds of vehicle owners: 1: Those who won't work on it no matter what. 2: Those who will...

    Wheel Finish Question

Hi all: I'm going to look at a set of the GM 2296299 wheels later today. All four are curbed, but the price is cheap. In the photos, the underlying layer below the silver areas is black. Does this mean the silver is a PVD coating? Can this be removed like paint can? I don't want to get...

Good, detailed info. Thanks for that. I am experiencing the flickering you refer to exactly as you describe it. I just replaced the battery and had the alternator load tested. They measured the output under various loads and engine rpm. Their machine pronounced the alternator healthy. The...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Changed the oil in my Yukon today. Installed the Fumoto drain valve. Used my new strap wrench to remove the filter. Wished removing the filter didn't make such a huge mess. Gonna have to get one of those filter punch doohickeys. Also broke the cap on my oil catch tub. Remember Manly's law of...

Yep. Saw it before I posted. Did you watch the vid I linked? He talked about concentration and temperature, which Crippin87 may or may not have factored in. Also, chlorine tablets (calcium hypochlorite) aren't the same as bleach (sodium hypochlorite), though I have to confess they may be...

I did some smaller chrome pieces on a car project years ago. It was a 1970's car, though. Maybe the process has changed since then. Figured it was worth a shot.
