@mattbta yes was correct MY, 2001 Tahoe. Either way, VERY helpful. It actually looked like the connector inside the sending unit as apposed to the one on the outside of the sending unit. Pins and their colors were correct. And was good to know is a Metri Pack 150 which I'd suspected.
@Fless...
Sweet @mattbta I've seen this in the FSM for my corvette but not sure where it was at for my Tahoe. I now see the connector specifies Metri-Pack 150. Oddly the shape in the diagram is different than the actual connector though but it's something. I was thinking they maybe Metri Pack 150...
Junction Block Underhood Connector F1 I believe. The FSM doesn't seem to have the connector number for the sending unit.
There's a second connector inside the pump. I need to crimp the new connector that came with the pump inside the sending unit as well.
This project is turning into a nightmare. There's SO little information online about various Delphi connectors and their corresponding current load at 14 volts. I think the fuel pump circuit will handle 15 amps. I'm going up to 13.5V... But I'm not for sure what gauge wire the factory already...
I have a separate post on fuel pump pressure. Finally bit the bullet and bought a high volume fuel pump for my build. Hopefully helps with fuel issues. Long story short...
I need to figure out what terminal pins are used in the fuel pump connector.
I have the pins for the under hood junction...
Doesn't look as pretty as factory but hopefully does the trick! I ended up using the 3M urethane windshield adhesive. I VERY carefully removed ALL urethane behind hinge (where mounts to glass. I also drilled out the holes in the hinge that urethane passes through. I think this will provide some...
I'm completely **** retentive. My main concern is gutting them w/o cutting up the exhaust. The cats are in the middle of the downpipe. I cannot get a chisel or anything in there around the bend. Any ideas?
If I cut the downpipe I have to weld and then it's just as easy to spend a couple hundred...
I have to drop the front exhaust to get at the transmission pan. I drilled some of the separate plate holes too big when I built the transmission... Long story short, I'm thinking about soaking the cats in a solvent. Certainly wouldn't hurt. Anybody done this? Which solvent works best... I asked...
Somebody just told me something that makes a whole lot of sense... I am a thick skulled person for not realizing sooner. I'm at 275000 miles on the original Catalytic Converters! Starting to get rear O2 codes. I think my mileage issue may actually be old converters!
I have a friend that needs to replace these. I might do the job for him however, he said shop says it requires a special tool. I cannot find much info on this vehicle online to verify that... Anybody have any additional info?
Here's a link to the part...
That is GENIOUS! It's going to be about $60 for the glue... I hadn't thought of that.
I wish I had that option. I do have a nice junkyard. I could have called them but certain it would have been hundreds of dollars. They a couple years ago they switched to book pricing. there's numerous other...
I took my rear hatch glass off, and pulled off the loose hinge. I bought the urethane windshield adhesive. Unfortunately, they didn't have the primer though so that's on order. I'm watching tutorials on replacing windshields to study up.
My question is this... How do you clean the old urethane...
I am installing a new high flow fuel pump. Separate post. Called manufacturer and they recommend 20 amp fuse w/ 12 gauge wire. Current circuit has 18 gauge wire (1 according to wiring diagram?) and a 20 amp fuse. I need to open the harness and run 12 gauge wire to pump.
However, I'm unsure what...
I'm a little sad cause I lost my G80 in the process. Despite haters G80 is pretty helpful! I go off road a LOT and prior to loosing the G80 I NEVER had to use 4wd.
Anybody know what gauge wire the factory puts to the fuel pump?
Guy recommended 12 gauge wire from AEM. I think I'm just going to order 12 Gauge wire but not sure where to get automotive wiring... how many strands are in it, etc.
I vote grounds. Otherwise it's a nightmare. FYI ~ When a vehicle has band grounds it's like it's possessed. Does all sorts of weird stuff. I had one would shut off and turn back on.
Back to fiddling with this. My gas mileage is 15 MPG at BEST. Patched a hole in exhaust (between muffler and cats). No effect. Thought maybe it'd help. Long story short I bought a $30 fuel pump and sending unit off eBay to measure the basket size. AEM in tank pumps will fit. The pump sleeve in...
@1loehoe_tony did you get it figured out? Kind of curious? I'd think is the rear end too other than you said the rear end won't spin. I blew up mine and it ONLY spun but no torque from driveshaft. It had stripped part of the ring and pinion gear. Bought a different rear end for $300 at junkyard...
UPDATE I'M STUPID you got a new Multifunction switch and didn't help. Maybe the diagram will still be of help though. Sounds like you have a wiring issue. You'll need to trace the lines in the diagram below. I'd use a power probe makes quick work of this sort of thing.
OLD POST: This happened...
I never much liked how to measure oil you put into system. It's a quite a bit of guesswork unless you flush the entire system and start from scratch. The factory service manual for 2015 should say. I have a 2001 Tahoe w/ rear air. Levels from FSM for 2001 Tahoe are below. There's a possibility...
Where did you source your fans from? I'm looking at RockAuto and they don't seem to have a OEM fan assembly. My plan is to buy part from 2005 1500 Silverado catalog for my 2001 Tahoe... Unless there's a better part to spec.
