Anyone else’s washer fluid make this noise?

I don't know that mine does... Hard to say, are any of the lines bent or creased? They probably run along the driver side fender just below where the hood comes down, tucked in under the lip of the fender. Next, there's a little pump in the revivor. Have somebody listen there as you run it...

Trans cooler line set management (it rubs!)

I did a quick repair and noticed my trans cooler lines are interfering with the idler arm! Granted I modified my trans cooling system to install a thermal bypass as well as 40k trucool cooler. However, I was VERY VERY careful to maintain the original / factory line set management. I don't think...

    Remanufactured Engines

You don't really want to buy from just anywhere. There's a lot of BAD builders out there. That said, the engines are VERY easy to rebuild on your own. Only hard part is pulling it. If you're a glutton for punishment you could possibly rebuild in the engine bay depending on what's wrong. I'm...

2004 Yukon XL A/C Compressor not turning on

These are for a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. I imagine it's pretty similar.

Can anyone take a pic of their glass hatch?

The latch, hasp, whatever it's called, the black plastic piece... It's coated with a THICK plastic cover. Sometimes that cover flakes apart and gets caught in the mechanism jamming it up. Between the latch itself and the copper colored / metal, plate holding it.

Trying 285/70R17... Load C any good?

I am going to give away one of my best kept secrets. I got $370 for four used KO2 tires mounted and balanced. They look snazzy, have around 1/3 ~ 1/2 the tread left. Not too bad as is a little over the price of ONE tire new NOT mounted. Only thing is I try to get them w/in 3 or 4 years of age...

Can anyone take a pic of their glass hatch?

Oh gosh, don't slam it! The hasp is stuck... The part that catches the pin on the window. You'll aggravate it further if you slam it. Try getting a hook and gently working that mechanism until it works it's way out. Spray it with some WD 40 or silicone spray grease. It's likely the cable...

    Intro & planning post

I built up a 4L60E and zero regrets. They can be a strong reliable transmission... I also built a 6.0L. Bought all the parts and assembled it myself with custom valvetrain. However with $$ I have into my build for like maybe $1000 more I could have done a 7.0L. If you want a super fast sleeper...

    Plastic Engine Cover

You can get a helicoil and rethread it. Take one of the other bolts (they are same size) go to hardware store and use the bolt size tool by loose fasteners in store and figure out thread size. Then go to eBay and order helicoil kit. Or maybe some here knows the size of that bolt and its thread...

    Fuel line repair

I should mention if you grab those top of tank fuel lines at the junkyard, MAKE SURE they have two o-rings on each fitting. They'll be on the inside diameter just beyond where the tangs lock to the metal line set. Otherwise, if an oring is missing the lines will leak. You can install new o-rings...

    Fuel line repair

You can put new connectors on. You have to heat that stuff up with a blow gun and melt the glue (expand the nylon hose) a bit then can put in a new fitting. I'd not advise it on pressurized stuff though like that. You can do a steel braided AN6 line setup, if time is not of the essence. I've a...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

I'm 100% sure this pump isn't built to spec now. I'm looking at in tank fuel pump replacements. I think when I get back from my vacation I'll be swapping one into the sending unit. Seems a little bit **** retentive as I could tune around the lower pressure. However, it'll adversely affect fuel...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

So I did what you said. I found a way to disconnect and cap the return line. I put on a test gauge. It got up to 80psi priming the pump w/ return blocked off. The Pressure bled down quickly but I couldn't see any leaks in the line set. I then put the return back on, and took off the rail...

2004 Yukon XL A/C Compressor not turning on

Bad relay? What do you mean by jumped exactly, your shorting the relay switch? Have you checked the coil side of the circuit? How's your chassis grounds there front driver side. The under hood junction box / relay coil is grounded somewhere to one of those. Otherwise, there's a control line you...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

My old ones leaked... Yeah leaking injectors is on my list of things to check. I figured I'd pull up the rail and put shop towel under the injectors to see if there's any drips. I was smelling the oil to see if there was any gas smell in it from leaking injectors. I'd imagine after shutdown the...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

I'm looking at the fuel pressure spec for the Flex Fuel L59 engine in my Chilton's manual. It seems I'm getting the KOEO pressure the Flex Fuel system has. My system is a gasoline system with injectors are from the flex fuel system (poor man's high flow injector upgrade). I had assumed the...

05 Tahoe Z71 Fuel Pressure Question

@OutandAbout is it a flex fuel truck? The pressures are different on those. FYI KOEO and running are two different specs. I'm unsure what spec is for running but it's probably a bit lower than KOEO. I get 48 PSI KOEO but I have a 2001 w/ return line. Reviewing what everybody has here as I'm...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

Thanks! I ended up testing and found out there's no electrical issues in my fuel pump circuit. I maybe dense... I cannot figure out a great way to search AllData (at least the old version). I search for connector numbers and nothing comes up. Then I went to connectors by number and it didn't...

    AC Diagnosis?

My friend's truck has the sliders too. It's also a 2005. Does the same thing. Have you tried fiddling with the temp setting on the slider? He wiggles his up and down and it goes back to blowing cold for a while. Also, is it doing it to both sides, or one side? If one side, which side? My...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

I'm almost CERTAIN this replacement pump is no good too *sigh*. RockAuto hasn't processed my warranty yet... but I want to find out if I can get my money back. There's a couple more tests I can do but pretty sure my line isn't blocked. If it was I'd assume it would pressurize much more...

Incorrect fuel pressure Key on and Engine Running

Not a single electrical fault. Positive side voltage drop 0.6mV negative side voltage drop 115mV tested against all three chassis grounds on driver side. I opened up the Harbor Freight fuel pressure test kit. Patched in on input side of fuel rail... 58 PSI. It's supposed to be a minimum of 62...
