    Pump saver kit is about all that’s out there for the 246 I think. Maybe look at changing over to a 3/4 ton case. I think the input spline count would have to be adapted though because the output spline count on 4L60e and 4L80e are different. Also you might run into driveshaft length issues...

    You don’t have to evacuate ac to swap engines. Just de mount the compressor and tie it and lines off to side. Same for p/s pump and lines.

    What gear oil for front and back diffs

    Front diff is 80w90. Rear diff with factory gov lock is 75w90. Some aftermarket carrier manufacturers suggest different weights for various limited slip units. Some also require a friction modifier additive, some do not. If yours is OE, just do 80 up front and 75 out back and call it good.
