    07 Tahoe radiator replacement

I have nop doubt there posts on this somewhere here and a bunch of videos on YT. The only reason, I am posting this is because all videos I watched on YT are way overcomplicated. 1. remove large resonator plastic air intake thing along with MAF sensor. No need to remove air filter box. Remove...

OK, replaced radiator. Wasn't hard at all. Maybe an hour. messy. Very messy.

    ATF drain plug removal

No worries. It's all good. Waiting on the extractor kit to show up.

    ATF drain plug removal

MOF, if I'll get that plug off, I am inclined to put a Fumoto on instead. Call it aday for years to come.

    ATF drain plug removal

No reason to brag. Neither is rust a problem here. It's not the rust. It's the darn rubber seal in the plug flange. It, pretty much, cakes to the pan. The only reason your oil drain plug does not is because it is used more often. So it does not have time to cake to the metal. GM apparently never...

    ATF drain plug removal

Just FYI, I remembered, that I have fluid extractor. Nope. Won't reach ATF in the trannie. And what I mean - I had plenty of tube outside the filler tube, to go in. There's something at the bottom of it that blocks the tube from going deeper in. Extractor works fine otherwise, I checked. So no...

    ATF drain plug removal

Right. And remove half the exhaust along the way? Pan "tail" is pretty much on the exhaust. Been there with my Silverado.

    ATF drain plug removal

I have BIG compressor but no air chisel. Also, somehow, I doubt, that will work, as bolt head itself is maybe 8mm or so height. There's not much to catch on. On a side note... Is there some sort of hex put on 15mm bolt extractor sockets? I looked at l;ike all kits on Amazon, only 2 have 15mm...

    ATF drain plug removal

I had exactly same issue with frozen drain plug on my 99 Silverado and, lo and behold, one on my Tahoe is also frozen to the trannie drain pan. So far, regular socxket don't work. I tried 15mm Griptight socket but, it just angles on the shallow bolt head and slips off. I still ahve some hex left...

BTW, can't use that to evacuate coolant, as rad does not have cap. Evacuating from expansion canister will do little difference on fluid volume.

Not sure, what "this" is, but I do have fluid evacuator. I literally have two garages with tools. I already have radiator on order, sounds like will replace it in 2 weeks. For now, Bar's is in. Rad is leaking from about mid height left side. not even sure, how come I didn't see it before...

TC is already changed, when they overhauled trannie. I'll hire someone to do the seal. Too old.

07 Tahoe/Oil leak in the front

OK, so here's the update. No leak from the deflector. No leak above it. It IS the rear main seal. Leak is clearly coming from the bell housing. Starting about midway up, at approximately deflector level and all the way to the bottom. I figure, flywheel picks up oil and tosses it onto the bell...

07 Tahoe/Oil leak in the front

OK, just replaced that gasket. Part number is FelPro 72435. It's much thinner, than OEM gasket and does not have rubber seal built in but that's what A1Auto used in their video. We'll see. Job itself is about ten minutes. I used swivel head 10mm wrench but, any quality 10mm should do, as far as...

07 Tahoe/Oil leak in the front

OK, so I found this video here: And it looks exactly like mine. Should be able to do it in like 45min, considering all the lift prep. Hopefully, that's the case.

How hard is it to get to? I can get Tahoe up on the lift.

07 Tahoe/Oil leak in the front

Found it. So there are 2 leaks 1 in the front is coolant. Apparently, radiator is leaking, I could not get good look because of the fan shroud. That wans of wires, if you go all the way to the right, as it's attached right underneath the shroud, has several wet spots like thios on it. Reason...

    Voltmeter reading

Yeah, mine reads about same on ECU and OBD. I still think that unfortunate jumping attempt shifted something somewhere in them electronics. As it was one off.

    Voltmeter reading

Both show normal voltage, maybe a tenth of volt difference

    Voltmeter reading

Yeah, not to jinx it, it's been all as it always was ever since. 14.7-15V. Btw, if it bears any relevance. That fluke low reading was next day after I helped jump start some old monstrous diesel pickup truck with trailer, stuck in O'Reyley's parking lot. Amount of rusted wires, connected to...

Nah, just life. Not a day without some crap news. Appreciate concern. Still sits at around 15 this morning.
