When I did my AFM delete (2008 5.3 Tahoe) I put on the new valve covers and since then I lose almost no oil between oil changes.
I personally think that it is important to make sure that you have a properly working PCV system to avoid positive crankcase pressure, positive crankcase pressure...
@iamdub @swathdiver I appreciate it guys, not so much of a problem yet just educating myself. The only other time cruise control shut off on me was when my lifter failed as you could imagine I just about shat my pants when cruise control turned off again unexpectedly
@Joseph Garcia My preferred credit union has the best interest rates in the area but they don't do lease buyouts. Today I sign paperwork to refinance the car with my preferred credit union so all will be well after today.
The only problem I had with that vendor is my corvette servo was shipped in a bag wrapped and not in a cushioned box. This caused one of the servo seals to become crimped in transit.
You guys are usually not quick to resort to throwing parts at the problem so I’m sure there’s a good a reason for it but it hasn’t been explained to me yet.
I hope you can understand my caution to throwing my wallet at the problem without a little investigation, I would be surprised if there...
@NickTransmissions What are some clues that people like us can look out for when getting a quote from a transmission shop that would indicate they are the right shop to go with?
If it has torsion bars you should be able to crank them up a bit without having to buy anything else.
If you want to fit 34 inch tires you will need at least 4 inches of lift depending on which wheels you go with.
This thing is a monster lol
@Joseph Garcia I'm a young guy and pretty understanding of most situations but the thought of re-buying a car that I've "owned" for the last 3 years really pissed me off. It helped me understand old mans frustrations with modern stupidity.
The lease buyout is really the way to go, I don't...
@Joseph Garcia I understand that's the lease buyout process.
To buy my leased car without doing a lease buyout I had the option to go to the dealership where they would "sell" me my car as a fresh transaction in which I would have to jump through all those hoops including inspection.
@petethepug I agree. The only downside to what I did is I need to wait for the car registration to reflect the current credit union before my preferred credit union will refinance it but the plus side is... **** that dealership.
@Kapitein The BDS kit is the best lift kit that I am aware of (I don't know everything).
Rancho used to make a very complete kit but its' been discontinued for a long time.
@petethepug The preferred credit unit doesn’t do “lease buyouts” so they wanted me to jump through a bunch of hoops to complete the purchase.
In the end it was easier to go with a less preferred credit union that DOES “lease buyouts” and then refinance it with my preferred credit union.
It...
Thanks guys I ended up finding a compatible alternator attached to some 454 Chevy.
I also found a brand new looking alternator but it was squeaky so I went with the dusty one from the 454 and my Silverado is good as new now!
My alternator seized on me today and snapped my serpentine belt. I will be visiting the junk yard tomorrow I want to know what alternators will fit in this 94 5.7, thank you
When I first bought my Tahoe cruise control didn't work and I had the dealership fix it before I took the Tahoe. Cruise control has worked great ever since and has only turned off on me 2 times unexpectedly..
The first was when my lifter failed, I was driving with cruise control on and then it...
@swathdiver Same I only run 91 which makes E85 that more worth it. I started running 91 when I was fighting idle stumble when I first got it and that seemed to help and have been running it ever since. Tahoe runs just fine with E85 too
@vinbart Do your research and find out if E85 is right for you but when you are ready, if you have a flex fuel Tahoe just fill the tank with it and enjoy.
At those prices you will be getting fuel that runs much better in your motor for much less than regular 87, I usually run 91. Simply put...
