To add to the vapor lock subject, It was a problem when turning off a hot motor and attempting to restart the motor again after the gasoline had a change to "cook" above the hot motor. People would have difficulty starting their vehicles after shutting them off when it was really hot outside.
@Hodgeee Back when I had Cherokee XJ's vapor lock was a common problem with the 4.0 straight 6 motors, amazing things by the way. I have never heard of vapor lock being a problem with these motors and I've been a member of several Chevy forums for the last 4 years and haven't heard a peep about...
@ukrkoz I recommend taking the old dipstick to the parts store to compare, apparently there are a few variations and I had to go back and get the right one
@Hoesgottaeat2 I would do that but here is the problem. According to this video a way to test the TPS wiring is to jump the blue and gray wires and this will trigger a code 21 if the wiring is healthy, when I did it no code 21 happened. Also the truck driving great just sometimes it has a code...
Today on my drive home my check engine light came on and at the same time the torque converter unlocked and the truck started to shift very poorly. What’s strange is that when I turned the truck off and back on the check engine light went away and the problems went away too.
I scanned a code...
I am looking into putting together some way to be able to view more detailed information about the status of my Tahoe while I'm driving it like fuel trim, current gear, and anything else I desire
I have an old Samsung Note 8 loaded with Torque Pro and a bluetooth OBD2 reader and I was thinking...
Look at your diff moving up and down man, either the diff mount bushings are shot or that thing isn't bolted in all the way. Don't know if that's the cause of your problem but that don't look right to me.
I'd say get a GMT800 but you already have a GMT800 so that doesn't make sense. If you want more creature comforts the GMT900 is a pretty solid platform.
Main weak points of the GMT900 are AFM and the 6l80e torque converter (some have the 4l60e).
Besides that, the main differences between the...
@Hodgeee Doesn't seem to be too big of a problem but annoying nonetheless. I wonder if there is an electrical problem like a cable that shifts under harsh braking.
Help me understand the problem, the problem happens when coming to an aggressive stop and what happens is the RPMs dip down really low? Do the RPMs dip low for a moment or do they stay really low until the next time you stop?
And you attempted to brake aggressively in neutral and the same...
@ahulsey I think that could be a possibility, but also someone could have just left something loose when doing your lifters. The heads need to come off and both heads have a ground on them.
There is one on the driver side that connects to the firewall with a braided metal cable and there is...
I agree with replacing the brake hose, also make sure that the new caliper has the bleeder above where the brake hose attaches. Sometimes the parts store will give you the wrong side caliper and it will fit to install but you'll never get it to bleed right.
Prepare for more brake bleeding...
