anyone do E-fans on a obs??

Go through the previous posts and jump on the phone with someone...if someone walks you through it, it should definitely take <10min. We've all been in your shoes at least once, so don't hesitate to ask!!! Also, I'll donate $10 towards a plane ticket so someone can fly and wire this thing...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Full POR chassis treatment + external 3 pad polish - truck looks BRAND NEW from 15ft away (i finished when it was dark out, so photos look awful) ---------- Post added at 12:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ---------- Do you have polyurethane on your sway bars & end links -...

HD Torsion Bars & Winch Bumper

It looks like I'm going to move forward with ordering a winch bumper + winch...adding a bit of weight to the front end. With that in mind, I'm sure I will wear out my current torsion bars fairly quickly. Instead of waiting for that happen, what should I look into to strengthen my front end...

    undercoating

so far it's really impressive stuff. My A-arms look like they are factory new, trailer hitch looks great and the frame (slightly visible behind the nerf bars) looks factory new. I did however go under my truck with an air tool + wheel the week earlier, so the finish is a bit smoother then...

    undercoating

I just finished my POR undercoat over the weekend. I did the entire underside in x2 coats...used almost the entire container. If you get this stuff on your skin, it will take days to come off...use long sleeves and assume you are going to destroy whatever you wear!!! It dries with a...

    Sway Bars

I installed the Belltech rear sway and took it off...personally I think it's dangerous as it's a hard mount to the body....there's no flex point. With the Belltech rear installed my rear end became little "hoppy" and with so much torque on the mounting bolts (Belltech designed not to flex)...

    CSFI to MPFI conversion identification

I have a BB tune and recently lowered the thermostat...should i sent the computer out to be adjusted if i also do this upgrade? you're right...i also need to replace the intake manifold gasket and while everything is off, i might as well do this too. ---------- Post added at 09:29 PM...

    CSFI to MPFI conversion identification

i hate to ask this...but for $250, what do you think the benefit is for me? (assuming the above extra intel i provided) My truck runs really smooth and my mileage is decent for 4dr 4x4 with 1.75" lift & 33" tires.

    CSFI to MPFI conversion identification

Interesting...my rig runs really smooth, but i know i have a slight spider leak on both banks...i avg ~15.5mpg. Worth the upgrade?

    rust problem

before you put that on, clean off the rust...get a wheel for removing paint/rust, stick it in a drill and clean off the rust. I know POR can cover rust...but if you're under the truck, it's only an extra few minutes!!

    Backup/Brake/Signal Lights - how many?

I'm upgrading everything in the back to LED and was wondering if anyone knew of how many bulbs there are for each area. Also, I'm assuming our brake lights are white, but would like to confirm. Brake Lights? Backup? Blinker? (assuming the signal and brake are the same bulb?)

Newb with 99 Yukon 4x4 with tire size question on stock suspension

That's great, glad they fit!! If you had 33's on there, do you think they would rub?? Also, do you have any photos you can post?? I haven't seen many rigs running the setup (i.e. 31's on 15x10's) you are and would interested to see how they look.

Intake Gakset Replacement - How TO

I did not write this nor have I confirmed the procedure...but with how often the intake manifold gaskets leak, I thought this was fairly valuable information. http://www.market-place.com/intake/intake.htm

    Recovery Kit??

got it - makes sense! I didn't know if b/c the rope was synthetic that wrapping it around something or crossing the strap back through the loop could damage it. I would never wrap it around anything sharp, but its good to know that it can be used by crossing the strap through its own loop...

    Recovery Kit??

I was checking out the high lift jack, but it was only rated for 7,000lbs. Is that 7,000lb rating just for jacking a truck up? Does it have a higher rating when using it as a come along? The reason I ask is b/c various components of the high lift jack had a variety of strength measurements...

anyone do E-fans on a obs??

That's a lot of power to throw through a toggle switch with out a relay!! If you have the relay, I'd be happy to walk you through how to set it up over the phone. Also, did you put a fuse between the switch and the power supplying it? Almost forgot - 201~

    Recovery Kit??

This may be a dumb question, but b/c I don't have a winch, can i simply put one hook on each end of the rope....then connect one hook to the truck that's stuck and one to the guy pulling Hooks: http://www.billet4x4.com/pro-winchhook.htm

Newb with 99 Yukon 4x4 with tire size question on stock suspension

Most aftermarket rims for our rigs are going to stick out from a little to a lot...so if you like that look, you're in Luck!!! Most of the rims I found were 4.5" - 5.5" BS when I was shopping, many more being closer to 4.5" then 5.5". Off the top of my head I can't remember OEM BS, but I...

Newb with 99 Yukon 4x4 with tire size question on stock suspension

Highlander - unless you plan on really lifting that rig, I don't think the 15x10 are going to look right. Rigs that I have seen 15x10's on typically have suspension lifts (4"+) and big tires....I'm not sure how 31's would look. As Bowtie mentioned a 4" backspace is REALLY going to stick out...
