Not all dealers have all the answers, that's why they came up with the upper control arm problem, if it were me I'd put the other problems on hold and focus on the electrical problems your having. Just my 2 cents.
I am no engine expert but did this "technician" replace your spark plugs and wires for you? Newer engines with high-energy ignitions need resistor spark plugs, electrical noise/interference may affect surrounding sensors. (like knock sensors). Just a thought.
Check your schematic, the radio...
The alternator produces AC voltage, the rectifier in the alternator turns it to DC volts that the vehicle uses. If the rectifier was bad it would send AC voltage into the battery and vehicle systems. If you get 13-15v DC output from the alternator, it works properly.
I don't mean to add any...
The voltage regulator and rectifier are built into the alternator, there is info online on how to check them, if either one was bad you wouldn't get the correct voltage output, do you still use the factory battery cables? Being that old they could look fine on the outside but be corroded on the...
Did you say you had or could get a wiring diagram? This might be needed to identify what components have a body ground. I don't know how far the guy disassembled and what was painted, interior and exterior or just exterior, but he could have reattached a ground to a painted-over stud or...
When you refer to "short", are you testing each fuse with one of the test leads on each side of the fuse terminal and the other test lead to the battery ground terminal?
Fuses shouldn't have a direct path to ground, they're meant to protect circuits against overload and dead shorts.
What...
This alternator could put out 13.4v needed, but it actually needs a current test also. Too much or too little current will cause problems to sensitive circuits like these.
I like the AT4 but not a big fan of the wheels that come on them, maybe if you could upgrade them. What interest rate were you factoring into the overall price? That could steer you one way or the other.
I received this update on Sunday, I was in Florida and kept getting the notice for an update but waited till it was home before accepting it just in case something went wrong with the installation to avoid being stranded.
GM has been trying to cut costs since the start of the year by eliminating salaried positions and layoffs of others. Of coarse they are going to try to delay and deny any warranty work they see unnecessary or too expensive
I have taken my Yukon through an automatic carwash a few times, I've been in it as it goes through, no problems with staying in neutral. When I have time I'll wash it by hand.
If your current sequoia is in decent shape I would keep it until the end of the year, if possible, interest rates will keep rising for a while still. As the year goes on there will be more dealer incentives offered as car sales slow down. The new Denalis are nice but with dealer mark-ups and...
Look at it like having a cell phone, if you have one without a service plan all you can do is call 911. These new vehicles could require some sort of continuous updates or subscription to be drivable. Miss a payment and you can't drive your car.
Come on guys, you can't go wrong with the black interior, my parents had an Escalade years ago with the tan colored interior. The leather was real leather and looked good as it aged but the tan carpet and plastic looked terrible after 5 years or so.
I had a 2016 Silverado with the 5.3 and you would notice a change in exhaust sound when going from v8 to v4, on the highway the exhaust would have make more of a drone noise when in v4 mode, I do miss the v8-v4 indicator on my Yukon.
Jeep claims the $110,000 Grand Waggoneer is off road capable, would you take an Escalade off road? The rear independent suspension on the newer Tahoe/Yukon doesn't have much ground clearance. If I was going off road I would rather have an AT4 Sierra.
