I'm selling mine, but not as pritine or low mileage as yours. One owner, 225K, lots of mods (see my sig), but needs paint work, A/C repair and new steering box. PM me if you want to chat about it. I'm in Sarasota
I used the NBS kit for my '03 Yukon 1500. Got it from BuyBtakes.com for $160. Part #14175. I will say that I was alittle disappointed in the quality from Goodridge. The splitter for the rear brakes was defective and I was unable to use. It had been several months since I purchased, so I was...
I've had mine done for about a year and never experince any pedal travel or pressre issues. I tow a 4000lb trailer daily and brake fade is a thing of the past. My truck being a NBS already had 2 piston rear calipers. I don'tthink there an issue with the MC volume being to low on these models.
Yep. It's the same one. That info may help once I get my multimeter working. The battery leaked inside the meter. I'm trying to clean it up, but and I may have to replace it. I never remember to remove the batteries after use. It's nice that it uses AAAs, but they seem to leak way more often...
I know there are several discussions on parasitic draw issues, but none of these seem to describe what's happening to my '03 Yukon. For a couple of weeks I have had a parasitic drain that is caused by things that won't shut down when the ignition is off. For example when I turn off the...
You won't regret it on an '02, for a certainty. Huge difference is stopping power. My '03 tows 4500lbs everyday and this upgrade has saved me two or three time since I installed it last year. Stopping 11,000lbs with the factory brakes was always sketchy. I have the Atomic Fab Viking coilovers...
Update: The new axle seal has begun leaking after just a month. Back to ATK for warranty. They a shipping a complete new differential. Should be here in two weeks.
Update:
I took my Yukon to another shop and had them replace the pickup tube and o-ring. This completely solved my problem and I should be good for another 80-100K. Thanks all, for the advice. My son-in-law, who originally changed the o-ring and pan gasket was just being stubborn and insisting...
I know, it's a little puzzling. I would have expected a misfire, too. But I guess the cylinder still fires and maybe the valve is opening enough to partially fill the cylinder with fuel/air.
I watched some mechanic on YouTube repairing an NNBS with VVT DOD and he showed how roller lifters can...
Maintains 35 psi at idle and around 48-50 at cruising speed (2200-2500 rpm). The only time the pressure seems weak is the first 2-3 seconds after start-up after which the valvetrain noise goes quiet. Then the noise comes back with a vengeance randomly. But the pressure gauge never shows any...
So my 5.3 is dying at 218K. Pretty disappointing since I'm the original owner and meticulously maintained the engine with synthetic oils since the first oil change. I spent a ton of money on the suspension and brakes a while back with the thought that I would put in a crate engine at around...
So after about two months with the friction modifier additive in the differential, the chatter is all but gone. I don't know why the setup that ATK uses requires it, but it simply has tons of chatter without it. Now I have a new wrinkle......The driver-side axle seal is leaking after only 3000...
Well, the friction modifier definitely helped. I'd say about 75% of the chatter is gone. So apparently ATK is not using the OEM technology in their remanufacturing.
You'll probably see a bigger difference after they break-in. Now that I've been using mine a few months, I feel a significant difference. But then I'm towing 4000-5000 lbs much of the time. They saved me from cutting some lady's car in half a few weeks ago. She pulled out very close to go the...
