Too bad we don't have a good GM parts counter guy to sort out the parts for these swaps. Seems like a pretty good chance that the NBS dual-piston brakes might fit the NNBS rear setup. After all, who would've thought that the 2021 front brakes could be swapped to the 00-06 models with virtually...
I'll try to remember to take some pics along the way. I'm terrible with that. Especially once I get my hands dirty and greasy. Probably wouldn't be good for my iPhone to wipe it with BrakeClean
So has anyone found a shortened sway bar end-link for the 00-06 rear sway bar? I have a 3" drop but still have the original end links because I've never found a shorter version. My sway bar turns down about 20° from horizontal with the shorter coils. I don't know that this affects handling at...
Okay, so I pulled the trigger on the next upgrade. The 4-piston brakes are just part of it. I went with the R1 Concepts drilled and slotted rotors & pads AC Delco calipers from Summit. While everything is torn down, I'm doing the front t-bar delete with a new Viking Coilover setup from Atomic...
Yeah, I did finally find it. You have to click-thru a bunch of selections before you can see the part numbers. I went ahead and ordered them yesterday since they had a 30% father's day deal. Saved me $100 for basically the same items you ordered. I'm just going with the stock GM calipers from...
Sorry, I didn't notice you had the part number on the image of your order. Now I see that your part number is one digit different than the one previously posted. Guess I'll end up contacting them to verify part #, if I go with theirs since they don't show the part numbers on their website.
Thanks, Dantheman. I think the part #s for the R1 is the only one posted in this thread (820-47080R and 820-47080L). I'm not sure about the use of drilled and slotted rotors for normal driving, but I run them for towing. Until I changed to drilled and slotted, I was warping a set of rotors...
I see from the photos that DantheMan has drilled and slotted rotors, but I never saw a post says which ones were used. Stoptech, R1? I getting ready to start my upgrade and I don't want to use stock GM smooth rotors since I do a lot of towing. Anybody feel like to sharing the aftermarket...
I ended up going with the Sealight Laxmas LED 880, 6000 Lumen, 6000K replacement lamps for my stock fog housings. I chose them because of the good reviews and I wanted a fanless plug-n-play lamp. I'm pretty happy with the brightness and color. As you can see in the photo, I also have a set of...
This BeamTech set appears to be the closest thing to your description, but looks totally different than your photo:
AmazonSmile: BEAMTECH 880 LED Bulbs,30mm Heatsink Base CSP Chips 885 893 899 6500K Xenon White Extremely Super Bright Conversion Kit Halogen Replacement: Automotive
Sorry, Sam, but that Amazon link appears to be for a different BeamTech product that neither looks like your photo nor matches the description that you posted. And it is marked as "Currently Unavailable"
Ok, so I have read this entire thread and a couple of others about LED conversions, but I have not seen much detail about the original fog lamp type. I was hoping to find a decent high output LED that fits the original housings. My ridiculous GMC owner's manual does even list the replacement...
The steering columns are so plentiful in junkyards, it does usually pay off to try and repair. Mine had several issues develop over time. The first issue was the return spring for the column shift got weak and wouldn't fully pull the lever back to the locked position. So I had to manually push...
Maybe I missed it when browsing through the threads, but is the A GM big brake upgrade that works for the 2003-06 rear disc brakes? It seems the rear suspension is much different from model-to-model. Anubody explored this already?
Thanks, Mike. It only has 950 miles on it and it seems fine once it's warm. Almost acts like axle thrust from turning is triggering the chatter, but very odd that it does do anything when warm. Tomorrow we're changing the lube again and looking for any evidence in the fluid that comes out...
Just texted the shop owner and he says they used Amsoil full synthetic 75w-90 which he thought was superior to the GM product. However, he just said to bring it in and they'll change it to the GM and see if that solves the problem. We'll see.
Thanks for the responses. First, I never said it was a noise. Just a vibration. I call feel the chatter but there's nothing audible. Here are the RPOs, GT4 G80. This is a 8.625" 10-bolt 3:73 with the traction control feature. Seems like a hybrid of a true posi-diff. The manual calls for 75w-90...
So on Dec. 29 I ordered a remanufactured ATK rearend from JEGS. My old rearend had newer gears but bearings started roaring. Took a while to get it, but the shop finally installed it on Jan. 21. I followed the break-in procedure with several short trips followed by cool-down and then took a road...
