If it won't adjust by turning lift latch in body to increase size of body on dip stick to tighten up seal, you are going to probably have to buy new stick. Be sure you buy correct one or may cause problem with correct fluid level in transmission. Sometimes part number is on dip stick somewhere...
When you lift handle, it still doesn't want to go completely in? You should be able to lift handle and turn it right or left to decrease or increase size of body that locks in tube.

You could pull one of bolts in plastic cover take to hardware I think you will find they are 8mm that way if you strip threads you can go to 10mm.Good luck
Yes, like I said I haven't tried yet. I've been going to pull a bolt and check but have had surgery and have had time to buy things but not installed yet. If you strip out, I think you have to go to 10 mm.
The holes in frame are not tapped so that why I went with body bolts they will self-thread and also have large washer on them like factory bolts in plastic cover. The bolts you are looking at I would run bolts that came with vehicle first take out then install bolts you are looking at.
