    Heat only works @90*

Thanks !! I'll give it a go. Is the harness going to that sensor easy to unplug or is this some specialty shenanigans ? I've encountered just 1 specialty so far in this truck and it was a sensor on the ductwork...

    Heat only works @90*

Yes that’s the one I’m talking about. It does sound like you eventually had to replace it, right?

    Heat only works @90*

@strutaeng I tried CRC "Electronics cleaner" on mine, no luck. Only blows Hot when set to Max heat, anything slightly below that is cold. I guess I'm looking at a new sensor?

It was plug and play, I made sure the part number was identical.

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

Unless the estimate shown by the computer was incorrect that's what we saw on the highway. It was 2WD, not sure if that helped. My wife drove it most of the time and she is a very conservative driver. I can guarantee that I have never seen below 24mpg in the trips I took.... but then again, I...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes this is classic MC failure if bleeding doesn’t recover the pedal or unable to even bleed… you might want to buy Autozone part with lifetime warranty so you get a free one every time this happens Edit: never-mind autozone only offers limited warranty (90 days?) on that MC

Any good recommendations for seat covers to protect seat from daily use wear ?

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

Nice, you are really in the thick of GMT800... The daily drivers are in my signature, but really until I got the 02' Yukon I alternated between my 84 F350 (2WD) and 1978 Bronco. It is nice to get double digit mpg in the city on the 02' Yukon :rotflmao: I'm tired of big restorations (like my 78...

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

I live on a 1/4 acre and have about 4 classics, and 2 daily drivers. Wife is mighty pleased :chair:

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

It’s a 1986 F350 4x4 4-speed w/460 w/Dana 60 front axle, all factory stock , 1 owner since 89’, 169k miles, came from Oregon. Bought from daughter in TX after dad passed away. I could have drove it back 200 miles but didn’t have a driver.

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

Towed 8200# yesterday with empty trailer weighing 2200# Averaged 16.5mpg with empty trailer and 12.4mpg with load .. drove conservatively in tow mode 55mph and no higher than 60mph as it started fishtailing

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally fixed the mode door actuator and also took care of the DTC B3761. It has some idiosyncrasies in how it wants to be programmed… I wonder if this is sometimes misdiagnosed as logic lock up. More details below...

    Transmission Fluid/Filter

Stick to OEM... In my experience with other vehicles, the aftermarket takes liberty on filter mesh size a bit too much... You don't want a mesh too fine (restrictive and may not be able to keep up with pump demand) and a mesh too large (can allow large particulates).

The issue has been resolved Finding the fix was a rather frustrating trial and error process, and after a new mode door actuator was installed... Dorman 604-113. There are 2 limit positions for the actuator, Defrost and Dash Vents... The problem is that when you disconnect the battery and...

    02 Yukon Climate control gremlins

Update.... This morning I was playing with the scan tool again. I removed and reinstalled the control module with the blower controls in off position. After turning on vehicle, I could hear the temp blend actuator go through the calibration... I let it do its thing for 1-2 mins. Now the temp...

    02 Yukon Climate control gremlins

Got the new blend door actuator... before I installed it I wanted to see if it responded. I simply connected the harness to it and adjusted from heat to cold. I could see response if it was in the high seat setting, and back to cold, but no response anywhere else... Just like my old one so its...

Installed another 15060162 that came off eBay. Used module but it works better than my old one and now all my buttons are working finally. Still no response from the blend door actuator. So next step is to replace those suckers. Parts cannon time I guess (cheap parts so why not).

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

A tee like that is a good idea if that will fit. That is how it was done on the older trucks where an oil pressure switch was required as well to control power to the early electric fuel pumps (early dinosaur computer technology!)

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

I have installed a half-dozen of these gauges. I don't bother with the wiring for the light. How often do you need nighttime gauge visibility?

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

I don't have one in these newer trucks. On my old trucks I mount them somewhere under the dash... pic below shows oil and coolant temp gauges.

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

Not the main harness. Usually I find an empty spot on the firewall (just double check it is truly empty and out of the way), make the smallest hole and fill it with a grommet. I have a grommet assortment I bought off Amazon. If your main harness or other harness Ingress points have room to feed...

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

Good deal. Especially at higher RPMs there is oil pressure for days! Sounds like the factory gauge doesn't reflect this level of increase with RPM.

    02 Yukon Climate control gremlins

I had time to play with this some more... I was able to command the mix and mode doors to the positions with my scan tool, but the actual climate control module (CCM) is unable to do the same, so I assume the problem is with the CCM ? Also, dealer provided part # for my VIN for the CCM is...

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

I would figure out what kind of threads are on the plug. If it is tapered thread, you should go back with the same. Straight thread plugs may not do well in that situation... You can take the plug to a nearby hardware store (one that specializes in nuts/bots) and figure out what you need. Ace...
