Morning All,
I need advice or opinions....went for usual 4 hour drive yesterday...first 2 hours great no check engine lights no history of codes on this truck...got a bite to eat went to continue on...this is where it begins!
within 500 feet heard a "clank" noise then began...
thanks James...however with a heavy heart I post today...went for my usual four hour ride this weekend....first two hours everything seemed fine...after a bite to eat went out to continue on my way and noticed at a real low speed a clacking sound...thought I broke a tie rod or ball joint...or...
Morning All!
question...I know I have a 3.08 rear end ratio...would like to service it...put new fluid,etc.
Is there anything special about the Yukon hybrid rear ends that I should know about??...
or is it just drain and refill with the proper weighted lubricant??....any information is appreciated.
Hopefully getting around to it this weekend...got to add helper bags on the rear suspension too!!
been working 12 hour shifts so time has been tight...will post pictures though soon.
thanks for the reply!
thanks steven...yeah savings in the wallet sound great...unfortunately lost my sanity long time ago...lol.
will post up some results and findings this weekend.
they are nice wheels....the + offset is almost perfect...+31...I have not had any bad experiences with my 28"
its a nice fit if that's the route you want to go!
Morning BG...just not sure if the code reader they have shows prior misfires...like I said my
actual check engine light isn't on....it just flashed 3 times....drove another 2 hours and everything was fine
I'm going to start checking everything out this weekend...unfortunately been working 12...
thanks BG...will do the simple checks before I lug this thing to the dealership...and yeah that engine likes to "autostop"
when it wants to....crazy how fast you feel the deceleration!
thanks yukonxlman...after I get code read i'LL post results...I have this strange feeling that they wont find any codes
thrown when they put it on a scanner....we shall see.
hopefully it will show a code at all....if they show anything im going the plugs, wires and coil route first
then drive a few hours and try to have it rescanned.
thanks HIhOE.
YES-I was at 80MPH on the interstate- so I wasn't using hybrid mode...it was all V8 power....check engine light didn't stay on just blinked 3 times...after I pulled over and checked everything...continued on my way...no loss of power no other symptoms
and it never did it again...just love the...
2008 GMC hybrid-114K...excellent service records...drives like a dream...just purchased 3K miles ago....so I decided to take a 4 hour trip to let my new suspension settle....bout half way through...2 hours or so..I notice my check engine light blink 3 times....whoa!!...panicked and pulled over...
man...the front end and rear remind me of 15'....people ask me what year it is all the time....it just has a different look to it
...the drop really makes it stand out....I think this one's a keeper for a while!....thanks for the likes everybody!
Finished lowering down my hybro....hopefully this weekend get over to the exhaust shop...going with doug Thorley shorts
and converting to a dual cat back....score one for the hybro's!!
completed the lowering...3/5 all belltech...just installed street performers front and rear...some rubbing
so it looks like this weekend out comes the dremel and fender liners are going to get a trim!...next is exhaust/headers ...
well see how it goes!
Electric Blue for me!!...and an 8.5MM suppressed core wire...I'm happy though I've only put 30-50 miles on it since the
upgrade....plugs are good too...who would've thought I would use an NGK on a chevy...they're great plugs for my daily(import
gas saver) drivers...well see how they hold up in...
with some of the pricing on ebay and amazon you cant go wrong...the dealership is 3 times the price for a set of OEM wires
and your getting a well known brand with performance features...worked out for me...I have a 6.0l hybrid....good quality
wire set....do yourself a favor and comparison shop...
HI everybody...so I got my truck where I want it height wise...now want to firm up the ride...I used a norcal 2/4 with street performer shocks...did the free travel mod....However I didn't realize that the street performers were such a "soft" ride...my factory shocks were firmer than these...
