    1999 poor braking

Still using original master cylinder. Bled brakes then bled the abs by putting truck on jack stands. Put in 4wd high accelerate to 30 - 40 mph slam on brakes and the abs will go crazy which cycles the abs without having a special gm tech 2 scanner. If you don’t have 4wd then you can bled abs...

    1999 poor braking

The brake pedal feel in gmt400 half ton aka non hydro boost brakes sucks. On my 97 k1500 I installed power stop drilled and slotted front rotors and adjusted the rear brake shoes so they are dragging a bit when turning the drum. This significantly improved braking performance, pedal feel still...

Hi from 7k feet elevation Northern AZ.

Also a meguiars M105 / M205 cut and polish. Unfortunately it has some deep pin striping down the side but it looks great 15ft away lol. A lot of this gen I see around has severe paint fade and peeling. So far this pewter has held up aside for some pine tree pin stripes

Hi from 7k feet elevation Northern AZ.

I've done all the work myself except for the alignment and enjoyed most of it. Everything seems good now except I dont get sound from speakers (no chime or radio even though radio turns on) After the interior warms up you hear a pop and sound works as it should. Only have issues when temp drops...

Hi from 7k feet elevation Northern AZ.

It has 170k on engine. Transmission was replaced 15k miles ago. He only put 22k miles on it in 10 years of ownership. Things I’ve done: -Multiple degreases and pressure washing engine bay and underneath. -Valve cover gaskets -All 4 O2 sensors (Denso brand) -Exhaust gaskets and Felpro bolts. Had...

Hi from 7k feet elevation Northern AZ.

Hi, this forum came up from bing / google search results for issues I was having with my new to me 2003 suburban z71. Wasn’t looking for a suburban but a friend wanted it gone and the price was too good to say no. He did basic maintenance but it needed a lot to make it road trip ready. Here’s...

    Difference between 2000-2003 and 2004 - 2006 +10hp 5.3 LM7 L59

So my 03 suburban could be 295 hp instead of 285hp if I change from mechanical fan to electric? Attached pic of computer. It has the large blue and green connectors. I just put in the flex fuel pump with the square connector instead of the original non flex pump with the flat 4 connector. I...

    Difference between 2000-2003 and 2004 - 2006 +10hp 5.3 LM7 L59

But different injectors shouldn’t account for the 10hp difference unless L59 was tested while using e85 but I’d think that would be more than +10hp difference.

    Difference between 2000-2003 and 2004 - 2006 +10hp 5.3 LM7 L59

Correct LM7 isn’t flex fuel compatible and that’s the main difference between LM7 and L59 according to multiple posts. They are 99% the same. I realized this past weekend that I've had an L59 the whole time I thought it was an LM7. Only differences are more injector flow (33 lb/hr vs 22.5-28...

    Difference between 2000-2003 and 2004 - 2006 +10hp 5.3 LM7 L59

Yea I still have mechanical fan which I don’t mind having. In addition to Blackbear tune I also replaced the stock muffler with a magnaflow 12588 which is nearly a direct swap (needs to be welded). Also added a AFE 54-74101 intake. I’ve done the easy bolt-ons and will prob stop there for now...

    Difference between 2000-2003 and 2004 - 2006 +10hp 5.3 LM7 L59

Anyone know what the difference is between these two generations? What was changed on the later versions to increase +10hp and +5tq. Intake? Cam? Just the tune? I have an 03 Burban early build with 8th digit T = LM7 so I got the 285hp LM7. I did get it blackbear tuned which definitely woke it...
