I got this piece with the DIC switch for 10 bucks. Found a guy on craigslist with chevy truck parts and he had all kinds of stuff. It wasn't even in the ad.
When you look on craigslist you have to look for the ad that gives you clues that the person buys and parts out late model GM trucks or...
Does your roll sensor (thing in floor) still work? Was there any other way to make room for the jump seat?
Roll sensor? How does it work? The area I cut off was basically covering the portion that has 2 screws holding down the bottom piece. I thought it has something to do with the air bags...
I also put on some civi pillar covers.
My inside door handle was broke, so I picked up a civi door panel. Much beefier. My switches won't on this panel and the guy gave me the switches with the panel, I'm thinking about doing vinyl wood decal wrap on the steering wheel, dash, other switches and...
The black plastic wire cover thing in the middle wil not let the new jump seat fit on the studs. I saw where someone else put one of these in and had to trim the back side. I used the hacksaw to make a line, then dremeled. Fits perfect now.
I figured I would start a thread and add any and all updates as I go along instead of making new threads.
Yesterday I picked up a jump seat console for $100 at a local junkyard. It's pretty much mint condish.
Never hurts to ask. I am just too cheap to go to the dealer for anything. Craigslist, forums or ebay is pretty much my only source for parts. Oh yea, junkyards also.
Right now, I'm using a plastic milkcrate with some pieces of wood screwed to it to get the right heighth and some padding with...
Would have to figure in some kind of backer to hold switch and then epoxy it at the right depth, seeing there is nothing but a smooth flat surface on the back side. In time i'll come across the right trim piece to replace with. This thing is kind of cool though. But now, watching the engine...
I picked up some spare parts and a DIC. Here are some pics. I had to separate the small trim piece from the long trim with the middle vents. I just ground the plastic rivet heads off with the dremel cut off and left the studs to slide the DIC trim back on when it goes back together.
Use the Techron Fuel Injector cleaner. Run it with a low fuel tank for a higher concentrate. Stuff works great on fixing rough idle caused by dirty injectors.
My first look is craigslist. You never know, I have found the perfect fix right in my own backyard a few times. Then I usually end up on ebay like everyone elese.
I've talked with a few PPV owners and the ride is coming from the stiffness in the spring. The spring is so unforgiving that it is almost impossible to rock the vehicle up and down by lifting the rear wheel well. My 02 Avalanche is easy to do this compared to the Tahoe. The sway bars are taking...
Has anyone replaced their tight police package springs with something a little softer? I'm not talking about converting to a civilian suspension, just a replacement spring that would give more than the ppv's. There are so many vehicles with struts and rear coils that there has to be one that...
