If you haven't bought a tech 2 yet look into the vcx nano, 130 bucks and you have tech 2 and GDS which is for the newer vehicles. Need a win 7 laptop though.
Well I learned something new today. The mileage is stored in the cluster not the ECM, who woulda thunk it. I figured the ECM would store it so you couldn't change the cluster and reset the mileage. Makes me wonder if my Tahoe has 199k or if its really more.....
Edit: this is the '13 sierra cluster
It's going to be way easier to do it while the engine is out, I'll stop being cheap now lol. I'm going to start with a Texas speed kit I guess. Found one for $700 but not sure what it includes. I guess I'll start a parts list right now.
So after reading a bunch and getting real familiar with the afm system I'm wondering if a full delete is really necessary. If I shut the afm in the ECM and pull the valley cover and plug the oil passages, the only real problem that remains would be if a lifter spring were to break causing the...
Ya I'm good with the 4 speed, I don't tow enough anymore anyway.
I'm thinking about keeping the vvt since it's so easy to keep. Probably going to splurge for the hptuners mpvi setup or whatever that is , more toys to play with.
Turbo? Now why did you have to go and mention a turbo? Maybe an...
Long story short the sierra was wrecked and I bought the Tahoe with 198k. Power train in sierra is solid and the Tahoe is starting a very faint tick. The oil sample I sent out to the lab came back with high levels of lead. I'm just getting ahead of the problem because I have the hardware sitting...
Not trying to be rude but you probably need a new book. These gen 4 5.3's run 300k plus if you maintain them. I've owned four 5.3's, two gen 3's and two gen 4's, all pushing or over 200k.
Ya the rabbit hole gets deep quick. I pretty much just drive 60 miles a day to work and back and occasionally in the summer I may pull a 20 foot car trailer but that would be rare. I don't really want to dig into the 4l60e yet so I'm only planning on increasing the power to a point say maybe...
I was looking at Texas Speed's delete kits and they have all kinds of options. I was thinking either their "stock" cam, which I assume means same cam as the non DOD engines, and a "stage 1" cam. If I decide to go with Texas Speed I will probably just call them and tell them what I'm trying to do...
Probably a physical delete since I'll have it out on the stand already.
Another thing I forgot to mention is the 07 lmg has a 4 speed transmission and the 13 lc9 is a 6 speed. Still should be the same bell housing bolt pattern?
I was hoping you would reply, thank you. After lurking various posts on this site you seem to be the guy who knows what going on.
Funny you say manifold bolts, the lmg has both rear bolt heads snapped already. I'm surprised with 200k there's no noticable blow by or carbon build up, looks like...
Hello everyone, I have an 08 Tahoe with an LMG 5.3. It's getting tired at 200k and I’m looking at getting an engine swap ready for the day it goes. I also have a 2013 Sierra with an LC9 with around 120k that has a bent frame and some front end damage. After the accident I brought it in the...
was this on just on the two rear shocks or on all four ride height sensors as well? I have resistors on the shocks but still have the message in the DIC
