Agreed! Though 6.0L was discontinued after 2009, while the Denali and Escalade got the 6.2L (which I wouldn't mind as well).
2009 was also the first year of the 6L80E transmission, which would be nice to have with that bigger engine. Either way, AFM delete for sure.
Although somehow I'm still...
I’m just trying to activate the electric fan, so don’t want to buy the $400 interface cable.
Wondering if anyone in the Bay has a cable we could use once I buy the HP Tuners credits?
lol... You wouldn't be touching the frame. The trimming is on the backend of the hitch that sticks out, pokes out toward the tire... and does not impact structural rigidity at all.
Here is a thread you might like to read:

How do I know exactly how much I'm raising the front up from stock setting if the previous owner played with the torsion bars?
Is there a way to measure certain suspension bits instead of simply measuring from the fender to the floor? Maybe between bump stops? If so, what is the stock spec...
So, using the older style (removable PCV valve) valve covers and opening up the drain holes is better than using the updated valve covers with the built-in orifice?? Even if opening up the small drain hole as well?
I also read on another site that drilling out the drain holes can cause oil...
Indeed I hope so too... I also scored some Rare Parts Extreme Duty tie rod ends and those extra articulating CV's on eBay (open box discount). I'll post photos once I get it buttoned up.
Wow your setup is looking robust, very nice. Are those the updated SSM sway bar links?
I just ordered these adjustable links (below), which have the pivoting mounting point, but looks like the fixed ones on yours have the sway bar pretty darn level. I'm only lifting 2.5" (max spec for the front...
So, I found a few other options for front sway bar links...
Kryptonite (longer version for 7"-9" lift) look like they could be shortened by slicing off the end, same with the Cognito links.
I also found these Nexus links made for Jeep, which are adjustable to fit 2.5" - 6" lift, and would...
Nice find on those CV's... RockAuto has them for $120
I'd still need longer sway bar links and dropped pitman arms though, no?
And do you mean trim the front sway links? Wouldn't I need slightly longer sway bar links (not shortened ones) if I'm installing a 2.5" level front?
So, I found the SSM ones on ebay, and the fitment is for "2011-2019", but the Kryptonite ones say fitment is 1999 to 2019, so the SSM should fit too, ya?
Although, they also say that it "Does NOT fit 1500 Light Duty? ... Are these the same ones you are running on your NBS 1500?
Also, the...
Would this work?
If I can extend the height sensor rod by exactly 2”, the install 2” shock extender, along with a 2” coil spacer… This should handle the rear, no?
And can I use the same coil spacers I would use for non-Z55 coils?
I enjoy the ride quality and versatility of the Autoride setup. Also, I had replaced the Autoride shocks just a few years ago ($800), so don’t want to pull them out just yet.
I’m still trying to find a bracket to extend the level sensor.
And would I need the same type of shock extenders that...
Nice! Thanks!
Did you run the wires into the cabin through the firewall port, then into a rocker switch somewhere near the dash?
If so, how did you extend the wires? Just solder on longer 16gauge wires?
Ok, here is another very informative thread comparing the differences between the old version and then new version valve covers.
It looks like the new version does have a few additional design changes to help it drain the oil and prevent it from spitting out through the PCV...
Indeed that thread is very informative.
So, it seems that the older valve covers with enlarged/slotted drain hole is the best of both worlds in the sense that it allows the oil to drain like the updated valve covers (Dorman part# 264-965), yet still has a replaceable PCV valve, ya?
Is there...
Nice. Could you clarify which drain holes I would need to open up? Which baffle?
And if I clean these out, is there still a need to replace the PCV valve?
Also, do the 99-02 valve covers fit the 03-06 engines? Could I just install retrofit valve covers if I’m taking off the original ones to...
Wow I thought it was the opposite… Rattler is the new type, no?
My 01 came with a non-rattler pin hole PCV, and the one I ordered was the spring loaded rattler.
Also, some of the videos I’ve seen on YT confirm this
I’ll be changing the fluids in the transmission, font/rear differential, transaxle/transfer case… and wondering which fluids the cool people are using?
I’m thinking of using Amsoil:
Front diff: Amsoil 80w-90 Severe Gear (2qts)
Rear diff: Amsoil Sever Gear 75w-110 (3qts)
Transaxle: Amsoil...
