Strangely, the problem went away after being present for a few weeks. No grinding when going in or out of the first or reverse.
could it be something else, not the transmission? Like the AWD component in it? Should I change the oil in it?
2007 Denali with 6.2L and 200K miles
It often does not start from the first try, the flywheel spins and sometimes 2-3 cranks are necessary to get it in the right position. I hear this spinning/grinding noise, then it starts immediately.
I had a mechanic look at it and determine it was the...
Blowing hot air. It has never been super cold since I got it a year ago. But this summer is totally dead. I attempted to refill it with the auto parts freon, DIY with zero effect.
What is the most likely cause of failure? Compressor? How expensive will it be?
about 200K on it, but the engine...
Is there an aftermarket single tank? You mean to tell me that 2500 Yukons /Burbs have dual tanks also? Is there a single 40-gallon tank in the GM lineup which would fit in the 2013 Yukon XL?
Not too happy with the MPG/gas tank size in my 2013 Yukon XL. When it reads empty, I can only put in about 25g and it is a 31 gallon tank. Something is off.
Possible to swap in the bigger 39 gallon tank from the 2500-series into my 1500 Yukon Denali XL? What models carry the 39 gallon tank...
I have not done anything to it yet. Just looking for the part.
So I have the 6L80E transmission. Interesting. Then why did it fail if it's more robust? I never towed with it.
I am looking at this 2008 Yukon Denali XL parts car, the seller claims it comes with 4L80, how is that possible?
is it a rare 3/4 ton Yukon? In which case it comes with 6.0L not 6.2L
What years tranny will fit in my 2007 GMC Yukon? 6.2L Denali. This is the non-XL version.
I understand it's the old 4L60E, what years? I heard 4L80E could fit, is it possible?
that would be appreciated. Is it possible to install them with the rack and pinion not removed? Does it need some special equipment?
Or do you think it makes more sense to get the entire rack to make things simpler? Plus the gears inside must wear out?
Link?
Looks like this:

But I can't find it for sale anywhere. All I see is Dorman type parts, are these any good?
Does the Cardone rack and pinion rebuild the inner gears?

Mechanic thinks it's the rack and pinion, and has the BBB brand. I never heard of it. Rockauto has the same thing. How does it compare to the ACDelco brand?
Also do I need to replace the gear box as well, in addition to the rack and pinion?
