Has anyone else with 21+ had a rattle/wind noise coming from the bottom of the passenger side A-pillar or behind the glove box or the passenger side firewall area at highway speeds of 80 mph or above?
So that rumble/shutter in the 30 mph range, which is worse when cruising at 40+ and you drop below 30 and slowly speed back up, is the transmission valve body.
The dealership spent 2 mins with it and said it's a known issue and that there's already a new redesigned valve body for the 21-23...
The only light I really care about the reverse bulb. It looks like trash. The light being is emitted is dim and doesn't illuminate anything behind the truck.
Additionally, GM made every light in this truck white with the exception of the reverse light which is yellow halogen. It looks awkward...
After further investigation, it appears the squealing from when accelerating from 39 to 45 and the squealing when cruising around the 70mph range is coming from the exhaust flapper valve. I can duplicate it in my driveway and make it go away by forcing the flapper valve open. I may have to fight...
Gentleman,
I have 2023 6.2 Tahoe.
It suffers from the GM 6.2 Squeal Chirp.
It squeals when stopping at 14 miles per hours (this one can be cancelled by driving in L9 to deactivate the DFM).
It squeals during every gear shift (regardless of L9). Although very faint.
It squeals when...
Man...I'm miserable. I love this truck. My kids love this truck. My wife loves this trick. But this this squealing is horrible.
Iits in the mid 70's here and I can't drove with the windows down.
It squeals when stopping at 14 miles per hours (this one can be cancelled by driving in L9 to...
@Tenscourts
I just want to confirm that these are connectors for the harness you plugged into on the Tahoe.
Also, on the drivers side, coming off the connector, there another leg that has a 2 pin connector that connects to nothing.
Do you know what this 2 pin is supposed to connect to?
Any squealing/chirping sound when coming to stop from 25-30 mph. You'll hear it as the speedometer crosses down at 14 mph. Keep drivers windows down only, other windows up.
Just a follow-up. My job uses Escalades to transport guests.
Today I drove 5 Escalades. 4 had zero squeals. 1 squealed so low 1 time that I had hang for the vehicle to hear it.
This is maddening to see such inconsistency and lack of quality control from GM.
You hit the nail on the head with the cylinders reactivating once you drop below 14 mph. That's exactly when the squeak happens. Depending on how many cylinders are reactivating determines whether it's a tiny squeal or long drawn out squeal.
Were you hearing the squealing before the Corsa?
I would say the squeal while cruising, even when L9 (DFM deactivation) is engaged, being caused by the flap.
The TSB does openly state that the squeal that's present when coming to a stop and accelerating from a steady cruise at 60-75 mph is being caused by the retarding of the spark when...
Thanks for chiming in. Does the borla or the aftermarket exhaust the GM sells for the 6.2 cancel out a lot of the squealing?
I may upgrade the exhaust.
Yes, correct. No one else offers anything like this. Every other LED manufacturer that offers you the resistors tells you to plug them in in line with your bulbs or put a harness behind the lamp.
Truly grateful you've taken the time to develop test something like this that will be plug and play...
You are spot on.
"Yes it's perfectly normal and all of our vehicles that we used our crappy components on. If you're lucky enough to be one of the ones that we used are better components on your car does not squeal. Don't compare a car with crappy components to another one with good components...
