No zerks on the u joints. I actually looked into replacing them when I first started hearing the squeak and thought it might have been a U joint causing the sound. It wasn't until the squeak got a lot louder that it was clear it was coming from the front driver wheel. But I actually dropped...
Looks like it was a ball joint. I ended up ordering a grease gun on amazon and following this guide to grease a sealed ball joint: https://www.suspension.com/blog/how-to-grease-ball-joints/.
They didn't look to be torn or anything but after greasing them up it seems like the squeaking is gone...
One of my front driver side ball joints has been producing a terrible squeak lately. I ended up ordering a grease gun on amazon and following this guide: https://www.suspension.com/blog/how-to-grease-ball-joints/.

Yeah, I think it would have been $165 for a standard tint but with the black truck and black interior I wanted something to keep the interior a little cooler in the summer. He quoted $280 for ceramic and $230 for carbon but ended up giving me ceramic for the carbon price.
It's definitely...
Got a tint done on Friday. The guy gave me a ceramic tint for the price he would have charged for carbon since he ended up taking his lunch break at exactly the time he told me to come by the shop. $230 total.
The rear windows are 5%, the driver and passenger windows are a little bit...
Got a ceramic tint done on all the windows except the windshield on Friday and gave it a nice wash and wax today
I went with 5% on all the rear windows and decided to go with 20% on the front windows
I’ve actually noticed it from just turning the wheel sometimes. Does that mean it’s the ball joint?
Here are some pics I took of the upper and lower driver side ball joints:
i replaced the tie sway bar end links and sway bar bushings a few months back so maybe I messed that up somehow. Is there any way to diagnose it? Anything in particular I should look for?
The plastidip was starting to bubble and come off in places so I went ahead and peeled it off (minus a few spots on the lugnut covers) yesterday. Probably just going to leave it like this for awhile. If I decide I want to go back to the black I'll wait at least until spring/summer to try it again.
Decided to pull the black plastidip off my wheels yesterday. I’m not sure if it was due to the cold weather but it was starting to bubble and peel in places so I figured if I wanted to keep my rims black I’d have to start fresh with a completely new coat.
there’s still some black on the lug...
So I had a bit of a scare today. Recently my tahoe has been producing a squeak/squeal at low speeds. First thought was that it could be brakes but the pads looked fine when I checked. Then I thought it might have been a u-joint so I dropped the driveshaft yesterday to check but they were...
I’ve been noticing this with my 2011 Z71 recently at different gas stations. Pull the nozzle out of the tank a little bit next time you fill up. Not having it inserted all the way in seems to have solved it for me so far.
These are the ones I installed back in March:

I’m pretty sure the ones my last...
Seconding this, had the same issue with my last Tahoe. Pressing the brake pedal deactivates the cruise, so when that switch in the pedal goes out you can’t use the cruise. It’s an $8 part that only requires 10 minutes to replace...
My 2011 Tahoe already has the Airaid MIT but the exhaust system is stock. My last Tahoe had the SLP dual exhaust tip assembly and I'd like to install that on this truck as well, but I'm playing with the idea of also throwing an aftermarket muffler on while I'm under there. Right now I'm...
