    Exterior Temp Display?

The temp and compass display is on the mirror. Sounds like your display went bad and was changed. Is that correct? Mine is an 05, but they are all very similar IIRC.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The dye is called forever black. I like it because it is a wipe on application so you really do not have to mask anything or worry about overspray. It comes with a foam brush to apply it. That does not work. You need one of those wax applicator pads. If you use the brush, it will look streaky...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got a few things done over the weekend. Installed my radar detector hardwire kit and mirror mount and put these signal mirrors on. I wish they had puddle lights, but they were free from one of my friends who put tow mirrors on his Duramax so I cant compain. Also finally remembered to take a...

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

I am not much help on this as I did it all myself. My guess would be ~4 hours to do keys, shocks, rear springs, and an alignment. Why would you replace the torsion bars? Low end would probably be $300 and high would probably be more like $500. I could be way off on this. It always surprises me...

    2006 Tahoe z71 with 16 inch rim

Need a picture after the key crank! 16s were stock on all the LS trucks like mine. They'll clear. Looks like you already had it bolted on. If it didn't rub the caliper, you're good! If you aren't planning on raising the front end, I'd recommend sticking to a little smaller tire. A 33.2" tall...

    Best wheel bearings these days?

Another vote for Timken. Replaced mine with Timkens less than 15k ago. Factory bearings lasted ~165k.

2006 Yukon XL SLT option 2

No. The foam for heated seats isnt any different than the foam without heat. They'll shut off when the key is off, but they dont automatically shut off and stay off with the next key cycle like the factory heater .

2006 Yukon XL SLT option 2

Do you have captains chairs or a rear bench? I added some aftermarket heaters in my car that I use to commute and they were very simple. Might be a good alternative to trying to find and make a factory system work. Just need a switched power source and a place to mount two small switches...

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

Looks great! I'd bring the front end up a little. The alignment doesn't change as much as you'd think, so (IMO) you'd be alright to crank it a little and drive it for a few days to see how you like it. Just count turns so you can put it back if needed. Like I've said before, mine isn't perfectly...

    New lift installed

According to Rockauto these are the part #s BILSTEIN 24186735 Front; Base Model; LS Model; LT Model; For Front Lifted Height: 0-2.5"; With Torsion Key Lift BILSTEIN 24186742 Rear; Base Model; LS Model; LT Model; For Rear Lifted Height: 0-1" To level a z71 with 2" rear spacers must take some...

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

It wouldn't surprise me if your springs have sagged at least 3/4" because I gained roughly 2" in the rear from the z71 springs and I know that they weren't that much taller than the LS/LT trucks from the factory. How many miles are on your Tahoe?

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

Probably best. I measured last night and they won't fit in a USPS flat rate box so I doubt they're worth shipping. Especially considering they have 175k on them. I just hate to throw them out. No rust at all since my Tahoe has been in NC since new and mostly garage kept.

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

I had the same reaction when my tires showed up. Have the faith! Theyll fit haha. Id bet you lost about half an inch over the life of the springs. You'll have to let me know what your fender heights are once you get everything done. My rear end is just over 39"

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

I also thought the spring setup on an autoride truck was different than the LS/LT setup. Check around and verify. I know there are multiple threads on it. @Sam Harris, if you need stock springs send me a message. You can have mine for the cost of shipping.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Picked up a cheap Bissell spot clean carpet extractor off Craigslist for $20 and cleaned my carpets. Also parked next to a stock (and fairly tired looking) Tahoe. Wheels, tires, and a level really make a big difference!

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

Here is a good comparison to stock vs how my Tahoe sits. No idea if the other Tahoe is 4x4. I'd guess no... Also, (since y'all have me in a picture posting mood tonight) here is a towing picture.

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

If you're going with a bullet hole wheel, odds are you'll have less offset which makes the tire stick out further. This increases the chances that you'll have issues rubbing the front bumper and fender liner. I can't tell you how much offset you can get away with, but I will say that even with...

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

I got 1.5" or so out of the new z71 springs over my worn out stock springs. I've never had a truck with autoride, but I don't see any reason you would need to replace the springs to convert it. Don't use the extenders if you have 5100s. The issue is if you bottom out your suspension with the...

    Need some advise

You could clear 35s on a 6" lift with the right offset. I don't have that much lift on my Tahoe so I can't offer much help other than that, but I would recommend against a rough country shock. I know the Bilstien 5100s are widely recommended for a leveled truck and I think they have longer...

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

You don't "need" spacers. Like I said before, that's personal preference. I just wasn't sure what you had decided. My tires are 275/70r18. Theyre just over 33in tall. I think the general consensus is that you shouldn't go over a 33" tire on a leveling kit. As far as width goes, 285s are very...

Let Me See Your Tahoe, Yukon, Or Denali!

The hex is a little over sized but not large enough where it could ever slip. I am not worried about it. Tried my wheels and tires on my friends stock height 2005 crew cab sierra and they cleared. I think it would be fine.

Let Me See Your Tahoe, Yukon, Or Denali!

2005 4x4 Tahoe LS. 179k miles. My parents bought it brand new 12/04 and I just bought it from them. Finished dying the running boards last night but I haven't had it out of the garage to get a picture yet.

That is 100% a personal preference. I didnt but I cant tell you what you should do.

    Lift with bilstein shocks?

I believe you're talking about a panhard bar. My opinion is that there is no need with this little lift. Remember you're using stock z71 springs in the rear... If you went with z71 springs and 2" spacers, then you might need it.
