    Compression reading question

$1,100 and a $200 core for a question mark motor with maybe 170K?...what nightmare fuel yards are you walking around in? I would run from a place trying to sell a motor and cant get you an accurate compression test.

    Transmission rebuild kits

First off, how did you nuke a 2wd trans in 140k? As far as parts go, standard rebuild kit will be just fine and add the biggest trans cooler you can physically fit. Dont bother dumping money into a 2wd truck that doesn't need high end stuff. I've had MANY 4l60e transmissions on my bench...

Is it not possible to replace gauge stepper motors in an 02?

2000-2002 doesn't use "stepper motors" they use "air core" motors. You need to make sure you replace the motor according to the letter on the factory one. They are available on ebay, I personally hit up the junk yards every few weeks and grab all of em that I can.

    No rear heat

That to be honest I cannot answer. I played around with a few things and that was the easiest/least time consuming to do. I guess a lot of tahoes and yukons have modules that are just crap right out of the box and it's a fairly common fix from what I understand.

Tahoe MPV adding lights to doors

Anybody able to tell me if the wiring for the factory door lights is already in the door on say a base model or MPV?

    No rear heat

Had a Yukon do the same thing. Replaced the module in the back and fixed it. P/N 15832319

    Speakers under the Tahoe?!?

So YOUR the guy!!! Do what you want man, it's your rig. Me personally, it's just plain stupid. If it was rigging up something for tailgating or partying I could see that, but to be driving around intentionally forcing people to listen to your music??? With that said, don't bother with actual...

    Coolant leak, rear engine area

Freeze plug, crossover pipe, heater core hoses or fittings, headgasket. Only things that'll leak back there. My money is on the heater core fittings at the firewall, they suck.

Part # help - heater hose quick connect/Not the T-fitting...

I just run the hose up over the lip and work my big mits back there to tighten the clamps. Been doing it for years and only had one fail (pipe rotted off the firewall)

    Quick Sub Question

You absolutely could tap a speaker lead or the existing subwoofer leads and run a LOC but you will only be amplifying the existing signal. If your trying to get any kind of upgrade, imo, just go aftermarket for everything. 5 channel amps can be had for a few hundred bucks and you'll thank...

    HD hood swap

Never even heard of this place but I got one within an hour from me!!! Giving them a call in a few hours when normal humans are starting their days and not finishing them.

    HD hood swap

My factory hood is gross. I run my gear pretty hard and this poor thing looks like its been dragged through the forest at break neck speed. I want to do the HD hood swap, one problem, I can't find em anywhere around me. Where can I get one without having to spend $400+?

Part # help - heater hose quick connect/Not the T-fitting...

Yea man, they're terrible. Every GM truck I have or have worked on that popped one gets a nice new shiny pair of stainless clamps. Good luck.

Electrical prob when I hit brakes

Sounds like your flasher module is going bonkers. See if a buddy can let you borrow his for an hour or so to test.

    Steering wheel swap question

Not even close to worth it. Just the time your going to invest would be enough for me to live without it. Besides, if you ever wanted to change the radio you'd have to spend even more money to keep them working. Not worth it to me man.

How often do you listen to music in your back seat?...not worth effort my man.

    Quick Sub Question

The radio only sends signal to the amp, the amp does all the work, so whatever your getting on the existing subwoofer would be sent to the new one. Best bet is to do away with that god awful factory amp and run your own setup.

Location of factory amp and disable

It's behind the glove box on the right hand side. Silver box with 2 connectors worth of wires going into it. As far as bypassing it, I believe Metra makes a harness that'll do it, or you can take the time of going wire by wire. I think I still have the pinout sitting around somewhere.

Part # help - heater hose quick connect/Not the T-fitting...

Honestly, I just cut the factory connectors off and just hose clamp em onto the heater core inlet/outlet. Did it on my Silverado back in like 2005 and they're still right where I left em.

    2004 Tahoe rough start up

Did you ever get it figured out? To check if its an intake gasket, once it starts cold, spray some carb cleaner around the base of the gasket, if it changes idle at all, there's the problem. I honestly doubt it though, an intake leak large enough to cause a no start issue isn't going to fix...

    Spacers

Nope, not a Z71, just an LS. I have 1.5 blocks on the coils and 3 keys on the bars. No trimming, just flipped the rear shock bolts around. Having no rub AT ALL is a pipe dream on only keys and blocks. But at only 11.6 wide, you shouldn't be having any problems. Im gonna stick with the offset...
