If you don`t tow a really heavy trailer just get a set of good quality shocks and bolt them in place of the autoride junk. If you tow a big trailer you can get some Z71 springs or helper air bags either one will work well.
I kept the autoride springs and have billstein 5100 shocks on all four...
Replacing the autoride shocks is very easy, Just remove them and replace with regular shocks. They bolt right in place. I used billstein 5100`s and could not be happier with them. I don`t know what size trailer you`re towing but if it`s a large heavy trailer you may want to switch to Z71...
I was just looking around craigslist and found some 22`s. Not sure where you`re located but these seem to be a good price. https://newyork.craigslist.org/que/wto/d/22-gm-transport-transit/6445924848.html
I used digital dash solutions on ebay, He also has a website called fixmygauges.com. He`s in connecticut. You can either send in your broken unit and have him fix it or what i did was just buy a rebuilt one and you pay a core fee and once you ship it back you get the deposit back. He throws in...
I found the service bulletin,
A/C - Blower Motor Inoperative or Won't Shut OFF
Bulletin No.: 06-01-39-002C
Date: January 18, 2008
TECHNICAL
Subject:
Blower motor Inoperative or May Not Shut Off in Extremely Low Ambient Temperature Conditions (Replace Blower Motor Control Module)...
I had the same problem in my girlfriends olds aurora, After some research it turned out that the blower motor resistor was bad. At first the fan wouldn`t shut off even with the ignition off so i pulled the fuse. When i plugged it back in for some heat this fall i got nothing. changed the...
I usually have around 400 pounds in the back and tow my yamaha rhino on my 6x12 trailer, It`s about 2000 pounds total and it`s rock steady at 75mph. I can`t remember who was basically calling me a liar about my claims but they have been added to my ignore list.
If it is actually stuck you can gain better access to cut the cable by removing the license plate. When mine froze luckily it lowered a few inches before it froze so i could reach in and cut the cable.
I replaced my autojunk with 5100`s. Some people say you should also replace the springs with Z71 springs. A few guys on here don`t believe me when i say its absolutely fine to run them with regular shocks. I finally remembered to take a picture of my yukon with 800 pounds in the back to prove...
Before you waste money on coils change the plugs and wires first. And if you haven`t done it clean the MAF and the throttle body. If you still have the miss afterward then maybe you have a bad coil. And i would stick with oem coils unless you plan on doing major performance upgrades.
Everything i have read says it`s perfectly fine to switch back and forth. Some people say that you shouldn`t switch to synthetic on high mileage vehicles if it has a poor maintenance record but if it was treated well i wouldn`t hesitate to switch.
This is what i have now, Much better angle and the tips aren`t right next to the bumper. This is the best pic i have, These are 4 inch slash cut tips and the flowmaster kit comes with tiny straight cut rolled edge. I an get some better pics if you want.
I guess they finally made that catback in stainless. When they were bought by B&M they slowly started to make them in stainless and when i needed to replace mine they didn`t have it yet.
The only thing i didn`t like besides it rusting away were the tiny bolt on tips and the cheap clamps. And...
@Michigan If you live in michigan i would pass on the flowmaster catback unless they started making it in stainless steel. The dual side outlet kit lasted just over two years before it rusted away to nothing on me. I paid $600 for a custom catback all in stainless and the flowmaster SS...
I`ve had one for about five years now. No problems closing the hood or the filter getting wet.
I check the filter after driving through very hard rain at highway speed and its never been wet.
The only change i made was switching to an AEM dry cone filter to avoid messy oiled filters.
It`s been years since i put that flowmaster kit on my yukon but i remember there being a bracket in the kit that moves a brake line over or up to clear the pipe and you also take a u shaped bracket out that the spare tire rests on. A good shop should be able to work around it. I have 2-1/2...
For some reason it wouldn`t let me insert another picture, Here`s what i have now.
This is the best picture i have of what i think is a much better angle how the tip exits.
This is a pic of the flowmaster kit with the crappy little tips aligned the best i could get it.
And the tips exit at a horrible angle.
I now have 4 inch slash cut tips that are even and at a much better angle.
I had that flowmaster catback and it lasted about 2-1/2 years before completely rotting away. If you live in the desert i would maybe think about buying it but i live in new york where they lay down an inch of salt for every inch of snow that falls.
I almost bought another one before i decided...
