Thanks! Good to know about the extra thickness too. I've had good luck with them and Bosch in the past, but haven't bought stuff for the GM vehicles in a bit. I'll proceed w buying that one then most likely.
Like from the '21+ current gen? I see the below on RA from a 2021 for $153 (no core charge) wow good price. I'll search for the build thread you mentioned.
I wonder if the 170 amp units from the K2xx trucks would also directly fit on... I hadn't thought to look into either of these things...
What is everyone's general consensus on best alternators these days?
The 'lifetime warranty' on the Advance Auto (Carquest) ones are tempting vs. off RockAuto (RA), I just so much prefer the Bosch/ACDelco units off of RA. Decisions decisions.
Happy with that Denso unit #2219514? Seems that it has both inputs for the oil + trans cooler lines on the sides of it.
I was looking at it over the weekend. Want to revamp the entire cooling system next month (radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc.) before summer road trip season lol.
Not sure I'd trade our GMT truck for a K2xx (it would be an incremental purchase but TBD), as big knock on wood LOL given how reliable it's been for us thus far I'm hesitant to give that away.
I've always liked the GMC/Denali 'persona' if you will, over the Cadillac. Just personal preference...
Interesting take, had not come across this one. I'll have to pay more attention to the headlight differences on these.
Man the bluetooth streaming from the phone would be so nice lol. You mentioned remote start... didn't realize that was not on the K2xx years?
Yeah I think at this point I'd...
Dam I had not come across the sloped cargo area thing before, that is odd. Good to know. Honestly in our '14 I feel like the space behind the rear seats is arguably pointless lol.
Did you do the cam/lifter job yourself on the '17? I ask because I've watched the below video before and it's...
Curious to get owner thoughts for those who happened to move from the GMT900 platform ('07-14) up to the '15-'20 MY - what did you like better, or what was perhaps worse, in your view?
Have any maintenance or DIY repairs been easier or harder for you on the 15+ gen comparatively?
Did you hang...
Been meaning to change the serpentine belt since we bought this 30k miles ago now, woops. Got 2 of the kids involved and changed belt (appears I got the St patty's day version lol), tensioner (painted up quite nice), and idler pulley over the weekend.
LOL at the post title.
The price seems a touch high to me, especially for a non-XL/Suburban. I've began lightly browsing for XL Denali's (also the 6.2) of this gen, and while the 2020's seem to command higher pricing than the '18-19's (historical transmission issues have me focusing on the...
The below video is the best headlight removal / bulb replacement one on YouTube IMO.
I have since had to change my headlight bulbs twice, 1 side went out on me after like ~15k miles from me replacing (annoying). Note the grill has to just sort of 'pop' forward, it will not be fully removed...
Appreciate the background. Blame spell check on those lol. The wheels here didn't have a logo on the center cap like the American Racing ones prev. posted above but the style sure does like the same. Seems to track with your "bolt-on center cap" comment as well.
Saw these a couple years ago and just dawned on me to ask here. Anyone have an idea as to what these wheels are?
If I recall, and looking again here, the center caps had no brand name on them. My guess from a brief online search was "torque thrust" wheels, but that names seems to be applied by...
This could very well be spam on Craiglist given the awkward text and 1 photo lol, I just saw it, but if not then wow putting 95k miles on one in <3 years sure is something.
