Not a bad idea. I had this backfire on me once with a Jeep we use to have though... I couldn't get a rear rotor off due to rust, so asked them (like a formal shop chain not a gas station place) to remove it at the same time as my inspection. They claimed my parking brake got 'messed up' from...
I always get nervous for the annual inspection with every vehicle; must be trauma from my older stuff. Like, what are they gonna find, can I fix it, and how much of the upcoming weekend is about to be lost haha
Yep! I had started getting squeaks over speed bumps once the weather turned colder. No more. I had this issue before on two other vehicles and it was the same solution.
What specifically is done for "VLOM Maintenance" you mention? Like, replacing the entire VLOM manifold tray piece after X miles as if it were a serviceable wear item?
Also did the other side valve cover gasket (passenger side), which was my main leaker that recently started. Not sure I have ever identified and corrected an issue in such a quick turnaround before; dry January has given me so much energy! Lmao.
This side had a bit less of the burned oil...
Nothing like finally installing parts you bought summer 2021 right after purchasing the vehicle :) new sway bar bushings front + rear [Moog part #'s K202000 and K201174] put on over the weekend.
Welcome, and greetings from the county east of you! Lol.
The dash crack and ensuing noise from it, while common, can easily be mitigated by placing your fingers on the top left knob of the headunit (marked as "volume") and turning it in a clockwise direction.
All jokes aside my cracks on...
Purchased a new set of GM oil cooler lines (part #84828848) this morning, mine are leaking at the rubber flex lines up front near the radiator. Not looking forward to doing the actual work though haha
Appreciate the reply. Funny how you ended up also with the 9.5! Reading between the lines here, would you say the tension on the lines would be less if you did not have the truck lifted?
Looking good! Question - did you install the PowerStop brake lines part code BH00161 (like $150 for the set)? If so, on RockAuto it says for those that they're for the smaller rear differentials "with 10 bolt hole cover" (the 8.6" rear I think?). Is that the rear diff you have?
I ask because...
Replaced the valve cover gasket on driver's side this weekend. Easy job. Nasty smelling burnt oil on the inside of valve cover. I ripped 1 of my new cover bolt grommet however by seating the grommet in the valve cover first then trying to push the bolt through, so have to order a new set (only 8...
******, ha. So those aren't chrome wheels they're aluminum and just clean up like that? I def assumed chrome per your user image.
I have the chrome 20"s on the Yukon so no dice there. My OEM wheels on the Subaru are aluminum however (not polished aluminum though), so perhaps I could try such a...
Turned 150k in the Denali over the break! Nice milestone. Bought at 122k in mid-'21, surprised how much we have driven it over that short period of time.
It's treated us good since then (knock on wood LOL) at a very low parts cost and my time, so I figure to show it some love in the near...
Perhaps so. I figured it would just quickly burn off, but the guy replying after yours on here looked real nice with some metal polish. I'm mainly just shocked how well (and easy) this cleaned it up given I've never done it on this vehicle after 2.5 years and ~28k miles of ownership. The final...
Over the break I used the "Barkeeper's Friend" soft cleaner gel on my other car's stainless exhaust tip. So, I figured why not also do the Yukon's tip too. Turned out great!
P.S. this stuff is also fantastic for cleaning your kitchen sink if you've never used :)
This looks dope, nice work! Have to say I prefer those chrome OEM-looking wheels initially over the ones you bought, but whatever you like sir. Car looks way sharp after the fresh paint - I was thinking while viewing those photos how my wife would kill me if I tried that haha. "The fuuuuumes!"...
I'll 2nd Street Smart Transmissions (based down in FL) albeit for a different platform. I bought a 42RLE from them around 2017 for a '04 Jeep Liberty. Their customer service, at that time, was phenomenal - after install (done myself in driveway) and a TCU reset at the dealer, there was still...
Hi! Lurker here but I literally bought a 2014 Denali like you're looking at, back in summer 2021. Yes, the peak of vehicle prices LOL. But we had kiddo #3 on the way and needed a bigger ride than our Jeep and my S-10 Blazer. Anyways, for reference, I purchased at 122k miles, white diamond...
I have a 2014 and run 89, usually “mid grade”, in it. Only had the car about a year but no issues w that so far knock on wood. I agree w OP the cost adds up running 91 or higher all the time. And I’m not towing. Parents have a 2011 that they’ve ran 89 in for years and no issues (even tow with it).
