OP, I think you just happened to draw the short straw. With only 25K on the powertrain warranty, I expect you'll get a new/rebuilt motor from GM and hopefully an extended warranty. My 2017 C7 (purchased new) spun a rod bearing at 10K, for no apparent reason. Always used premium gas and had...
If you've confirmed fuel pressure and theft system aren't culprits, look into the ignition system. When mine was doing this (years ago) I narrowed it down to the PCM or a component (don't recall the name) in the ignition system. Ended up selling it (with full disclosure of the history) before...
More info on original issue and current status-
I was at Lowes picking up some mulch and left the truck running while we loaded the mulch. While driving away, I noticed the speedo wasn't working. When I set my DIC to read vehicle speed, nothing was registering there either. Tried shutting off...
It drives OK. No issues and no codes.
Any idea where the VSS is on these AWD vehicles? From what I've read the sensor should be on the transfer case behind behind the transmission. However, I wasn't able to find any connections remotely resembling the 2-pin connector for the VSS.
Out of the blue, the speedometer on my 2014 Yukon XL Denali quit working. Along with this the odometer, trip and digital speed display also quick functioning. My research has me looking into the speed sensor mounted on the transmission or the gauge cluster.
Any suggestions on how to narrow...
Not sure if there's a limit to how long you can be at 2000. However, my understanding is that once GM accepts the order your vehicle will be built as accepted, i.e. model year, price, optons, etc. I'm guessing there are limitations, such as the diesel engine plant blowing up or something, but...
Responding to the oil leak question (not the pressure sensor) since you replaced the oil cooler gasket, the two remaining suspects are the O-ring that @gooffeyguy mentioned or the pan gasket. Let's hope it's the O-ring as the pan is a PIA, especially if you have AWD.
My 2014 Denali XL gets high 15's driving mostly (85%) highway at 70-85 MPH. At these speeds aerodynamics does play a larger role than driving at 55. You could possible eek out an additional .5 to 1 MPG driving slower.
@davidav- Thanks for sharing your experience & video. Not sure about the OP, but my leak is nowhere near 2qts/day. More like a few drips a day. Hoping your info will be relevant and helpful to others.
Another leaker chiming in. My 2014 Denali (6.2 L) leaks in a similar place. At first I thought it was oil filter, but this wasn’t it. I’ll try the easy stuff ( o-ring, oil cooler) before progressing to the more time consuming stuff
that was an informative video, thanks for sharing. It wasn't on my list when I google'd (actually DDG) the issue.
I have a P069e code, so I guess I need to break out the multi-meter and do some testing.
Drove the 'ol girl home 3.5 hours on Friday. Went to start her the next day, the engine turns over but doesn't fire. I noticed that the fuel pump isn't priming when turning the key to the 'on' position.
Did some research and come to understand that 2014's control the fuel pump through a Fuel...
My '14 Yukon Denali XL gets 14-15 in mixed city/hwy driving. I keep my foot out of it when getting up to speed. However I cruise at 75-85 on the freeway.
12.x MPG sounds like it's either a lot of city driving, are you having too much fun when accelerating.
Not sure if the newer Yukons/Suburbans have real 4WD as compared to the AWD on the '09 and '14 Denali's. I prefer having the hi/low manual switch, but that's not available on the Denali trim 07-14 models.
I will say that tires on the AWD Yukons make a big difference. I've spun the rear end...
I heard the same rumors about the decline in Optima battery quality. What I heard is the manufacturing (or a potion of it) was transferred to Mexico and after this the customer complaints rose significantly.
Another vote for the Maggie. I have had one on my 99 vette for the last 10+ years (75K miles) and haven't had a bit of trouble with the supercharger, stock bottom end or the 6-speed trans. And believe me, I drove this thing. Dozen or so runs down the 1/4 mile, lots of street 'fun' and...
