New to the site, 2013 Tahoe 220K

Welcome aboard! Nice looking rig! Lots of great people and solid info on this forum. Mods do a great job at keeping the bs to a minimum.

New User - but looking to buy new PPV "toy"

Those prices seem pretty high but that depends on the vehicle overall condition and your market area. I see people paying almost double the prices that I pay for used parts and vehicles here in central MO. Thankfully things are pretty reasonable here. In the months of November and December last...

    Quick Tire Question

Tires are like pillows, everyone likes something different for their own reasons. I have Continentals on my Audi, Michelin on my Yukon XL 2500 and the Toyo Proxes on my Tahoe. I am happy with all of them. That said my vehicles never leave the highway, you may use yours in a different way and...

New Owner 2014 PPV from VA

Welcome aboard! I have been working on my 2014 PPV for almost a year now and it is finally coming together. I have been over every inch of that thing so if you need any help feel free to reach out. Lots of great information and people on this forum which have helped me immensely. Keep us posted...

New Owner 2014 PPV from VA

Welcome aboard! I purchased a 2014 PPV about a year ago. After a year of work it is finally now a turnkey daily driver. You do not have to remove the front bumper cover to remove the headlight assembly. You can simply remove the headlight bolts in front, loosen three screws on the inner fender...

    2012 Tahoe LS

I used aftermarket covers on my 2014 PPV. They are much less expensive and worked just fine. You really don't see them with everything installed unless you are lying on the ground in front of the truck.

    My 2010 PPV

Looks good. I'll check into one. Thanks.

    My 2010 PPV

Truck looks good! Jealous of that push bar! I have been looking for one for mine but no luck yet.

    2012 Tahoe LS

I would definitely try a salvage yard or self service yard. They can be removed easily in 5 minutes. Good investment if you have a rear wheel drive and live where it snows. Grab the plastic snap in pieces that hide the hardware while you are there.

    Service 4WD

I had similar issues with my 2004 GMC Yukon XL. Replacement transfer cases can be purchased with or without a new encoder motor. I agree with all of the above: carefully check all of the wiring and connections first and then I would lean toward the encoder ring. Ironically I could not get a dtc...

    Rust on fenders?

I had a '96 Suburban that I drove daily for 20 years and 600, 000 miles. I never had any fuel injection issues at all. A friend owns the truck now and it still runs just fine. I never gave that truck a chance to fail, it was on the road every day. They are good vehicles. Simple to work on and...

    2014 PPV Front Seat Replacement

This is definitely a better move than trying to make the seats from a higher end trim package work. The PPV bcm is not set up to support all of the heating, cooling, etc. functions nor is the wiring harness the same so you will have air bag codes, passenger presence sensor codes and the list...

    My 2010 PPV

I just paid $158 today for one that they pulled and delivered from a local salvage yard today. Also included a semi-decent bumper cover. As has been mentioned, depends on where you are. I have an aftermarket hitch I would give someone that needed it.

Update: 99 Yukon NP8 codes 1-2 shift scan tool?

I would strongly consider the transfer case encoder ring. When mine failed my symptoms were almost identical to what you have described. This failure did not produce any dtc's. It is not expensive or difficult to change. Just a thought.

Data shows and functions perform on scanner but not on vehicle.

Was just reading another thread on that subject. I assumed that if the scanner found it that it was programmed. Thanks for the tip. I will look into that.

Data shows and functions perform on scanner but not on vehicle.

2014 Tahoe PPV. Vehicle did not come with key fob remotes though RPO codes indicated the keyless remote option on the vehicle. Attempted to program remote fobs on the vehicle and they would not program. Discovered that the remote control module behind the driver's side D pillar was badly...

    Thoughts on cheap oil?

I had a 1996 Chevy Suburban that I bought in 1998 with very low mileage. I serviced the vehicle myself and owned it for 20 years. I traded it to a friend of mine with 600,000 miles on it and the engine runs perfectly and uses/leaks less than a quart of oil in 4000 mi. That vehicle never had...

How many miles did you get out of your original Transmission?

1996 Suburban K1500 4L60E with towing package, I.e. trans cooler. Rebuild at 260,000 after losing 2-4-R. Did an electronic update at that time. Lost 2-4-R at 330,000 which was repaired under warranty. Lost 2-4-R again at 570,000. Rebuild again and back on the road with over 600,000 and running...

2001 Suburban with rear air AC Low Side High High Side Low

Sounds like a reasonable theory to me. Any knowledge of the system history such as: *oil level? *condenser replacement? I have seen a pickup condenser used in an SUV which also has an orifice tube but it's in the condenser. This is fine unless there was a compressor failure which will clog...

    New from Kansas City

Nice truck! If wife and dog are happy it's a definite win! I'm working on a 2014 Tahoe PPV over here at LOTO that is definitely not as nice as that one but I'm making progress. All of the leaks and issues are worth tackling as it will end up being a great vehicle. Most of it is more work than...

    My 2010 PPV

Looks good! Did you use any of an oem harness for the foglights or just build your own with conventional wire, relay and switch? I will be adding them to mine soon.

New To Me 98 Tahoe, Green

I will advise on what I have personal experience on with this generation of trucks: Sometimes some carefully applied spray adhesive can buy some time on the headliner if the substrate isn't too bad. Definitely mask off anything you don't want to be sprayed. The blower can be the fan switch...

Need some help - 1997 Tahoe Heater / Blower Motor

Drop the glove compartment and check the resistor which looks like coiled wire between two posts and ensure that they are intact and current passes through them with good connection. Also check the speed switch carefully by changing speeds slowiy to ensure the switch has good contacts. I had a...
