This was the biggest job I ever dug in to. 1999 Cadi Northstar. Misfire on startup and loosing coolant internally. Had to replace all headbolt threads with time serts as they pulled out of the aluminum block. Pretty time consuming job and I undercut myself a lot as they told me what the...
I bought Proforms back in the early 2000's and ran on a set of GMPP Vortec heads on a 350. They worked great and I still have them as I upgraded to 1.6's on the engine. Personally I would save your money. I assume you are running a 4.8/5.3 since you mentioned trunion upgrade.
Have you tried not going full cold on the knob? The recirculate door has a problem where the foam wears down or wears out and the actuator will go out of range and defaults to fresh air. It can't find its learned position. Maybe the blend door is doing the same.
Just went through this same thing. I tried blowing out my vapor lines on the tank but it all just wouldn't come out. Rockauto had new GM lines so I replaced them.
I've never been a believer in additives until now. My 5.3 started to develop a lifter tick at startup from bleeding down. I always have gone by what the oil life says( I know better) until I realized I was going way too long on my LOF's. I started adding Lucas at my oil changes and I get a few...
We get payed to keep them active and our pay ladder is based off of them. The test have changed a lot over the last few years with the addition of electric/hybrids added to the mix.
@Fless Thank you!
Has the Black/Titanium seats. This was back in 2011 when we got it. Looked good with the BFG's but I run Michelin LTX M&S now. I'm getting about 50k out of a set.
I hadn't ever thought I would work on big stuff either but here I am lol. I see you are an ASE Master. I have my master in Light duty, Medium/Heavy, and Transit. Also have my L1 and undercar. Have a total of 26. I would like to try and get World Class before I retire.
I don't work with Jamie. I met him back when he had a brown 2nd gen camaro and I bought the engine/trans out if it. The man hustles for sure! I think he works for DOT. I'm with Jville.
4x4 should be a PF52 filter. A PF47 I believe is the shorter version that were used on cars. Did you have the last oil change done at a shop? I've seen many quick lube shops use smaller filters so you get less oil with those "$29.99 " specials.
I have not had good luck with the aftermarket ones. GM only. The way I test the switch and to tap the pedal when the cruise doesn't work and 99% of the time the cruise will come back on. No scanner needed.
in 2009 I had a 2010 1500 come in with a loud tapping in the top end. under 700 miles the AFM lifter spring had broken. I believe GM's bulletin at the time said it was a bad batch of lifters and to replace ALL lifters. Our chargers have hemi's and are on a pretty strict maintence schedule of...
I would never own an Mopar product. They are holding down the hot rod department but our light duty side is always replacing cams and lifters in the chargers.
The Ford products are ok until they break. Unless you have put timing chains, actuators, timing sprockets, etc in one of those it may...
Thanks everyone!
@swathdiver I was at a Chevy dealership for 9.5 years. We were closed up in '09 when GM went bankrupt and cut dealerships. We were a small dealership so we had to do it all. I liked going into 4l60e's as I replaced a good amount of sunshells and reaction gears. Also like engine...
Dropped the tank to replace the fuel pump after 226k miles and replaced the evap lines from a failed canister. Tried getting all the charcoal pellets out of the lines but they just keep coming out. I'm tired of taking 15 minutes to fill up so new lines are on the way.
Found the site after searching for the correct quick strut for my 2007 Z71 Tahoe. Yes I am still searching the forum as my eyes are starting to cross! The Tahoe has been great. 226k miles as of right now and we bought it at 82kish in 2011. It was 1 family owned as I bought it from the son as he...
