    Transmission Cooling Line Part Numbers?

Thanks Sunlit Comet. I just want to replace the old, rusted out lines that run direct from the trans to the main (not auxiliary) radiator. I am bending my own lines as I am hearing the replacement lines are only made by aftermarket suppliers for trucks that have the auxiliary trans coolers...

    Transmission Cooling Line Part Numbers?

The '96 Tahoe started dripping trans fluid. Turns out the transmission cooling lines are rusted out and the pinholes are starting. My 4WD with 5.7L gas engine (VIN Code R) truck has the M30 code with 4L-60E trans. Seems the lines go into the radiator with no separate trans fluid cooler. Anyone...

    Front brake dust shield

Sunlit Comet, Looks like you are on the west coast. Any recommendations for junk yard sources in CA or AZ? If I find the shields at a junk yard in the northeast chances are they will be well along in the rusting process. Thanks!

    Leaky Floors

wet carpet RDWIGG, I think just about all of us with the OBS Tahoes see this wet carpet issue. I replaced my carpet and seat covers a few months ago. Some things I did to stop water in the front: 1) sealed around all screws holding the cowl pieces (3) in, and 2) with the front right inner...

    96 Two-door Stainless Exhaust Recommendations

2-door stainless exhaust (Cat-back) Just a quick note that the Gibson 615501 kit went into my '96 2-door like a glove. The stainless looks good and the system sounds great too. With a 100% stainless system from the exhaust manifolds back it should be the last time that job needs to get done...

    2 door- driveshaft too long?

I have a '96 Tahoe 2 door 4WD with 168k miles that has been in my family since 2002. We purchased at about 65k miles. Suspension is stock (no lift). Four years ago a failed U-joint caused the transmission case to crack near the rear of the trans. Did a full rebuild with new parts going into a...

    96 Two-door Stainless Exhaust Recommendations

2-door stainless MagnaFlow Confirming that the MagnaFlow 23453 stainless cats/pipes fit great in my 2-door '96 Tahoe ($405 with shipping included from Summit Racing). For the cat-back I will go with Gibson 615501 stainless and report back when done with the installation.

    Vibration and part numbers

Ryan, My '96 just passed 168k miles. Just put in MagnaFlow stainless front pipes and new cats. Next is Gibson 615501 stainless cat back exhaust. Planning to keep this quite a while! The inside is like new with new leather seat covers from the Seat Shop in Texas and also new carpet. Did the...

    Vibration and part numbers

The problem has been fixed and I wanted to report to the forum members. I have a 1996 2-door Tahoe with 5.7L (VIN code R). After getting four new tires mounted & balanced along with a front end alignment after changing my upper and lower ball joints there was still a vibration between 35 and...

    96 Two-door Stainless Exhaust Recommendations

2-door Tahoe- stainless exhaust Donnie, Thanks for your response. I called Magna-Flow earlier today and talked with one of their techs. He said the website is correct and they do not have a Cat-forward product for the 2-door 96 Tahoe. So....still looking around.

    96 Two-door Stainless Exhaust Recommendations

Any recommendations out there for new cats and Y-pipe on a '96 TWO-DOOR Tahoe? Time to replace them. Replaced the cat-back system about 2 years ago with stock. Now I need to do from the exhaust manifold back to those pipes. Prefer to go stainless if possible. Looked at Magna-Flow but it seems...

96 Folding Rear Seat (2 door) diagram

Thanks to SunLitComet for vectors to the GMPARTSGIANT site. The diagrams and parts lists are very helpful and way better than what is in the GM service manuals. To 2DR4EVR...there are two latching hooks that lock the rear folding seat in place. In my case, the hook on the driver's side would...

96 Folding Rear Seat (2 door) diagram

Yes, I managed to get the folding rear seat out myself. I broke a few T-50 bits working on getting the two seat belt anchor point bolts out (the ones directly behind the seat) then finally drilled them out. Everything came out easily after that.

GM Fuel Line Fittings- Metric Union Source??

The fuel line supply and return lines are badly rusted on my '96 Hoe LT. I have beautiful stainless steel replacement lines and don't want to use those nasty looking rusty, original fuel line unions. These are on the 5/16" return (14mm x 1.5 thread male fitting) and 3/8" supply (16mm x 1.5...
