Tire fitment question: 2017 4x4 18's on 2004 YukonXL RWD

Currently running Michelins on three vehicles. Just looking for something more like the Firestone Wilderness that's been hanging under the rear since summer 2003. I don't want to default to Michelin Primacy or Defender XLT. Still looking for American/Japan rubber in a "trail guide" pattern...

Tire fitment question: 2017 4x4 18's on 2004 YukonXL RWD

Link to the Walmart Michelin Primacy LTX 265/65/18s (I don't have a problem with TPC spec/dealer OE type tires)

Tire fitment question: 2017 4x4 18's on 2004 YukonXL RWD

Thanks. I've been comparing size 265/65 (31.56") with 275/65 (32.07"), also the 265/70 (32.61"). All three seem fine on the rear or front (w/out larger keys). 265=10.42" 275=10.83" Thanks for the link, I was looking at the tacomaworld.com one. Any thoughts on light (34-35 lb) regular...

Tire fitment question: 2017 4x4 18's on 2004 YukonXL RWD

I've got a 2004 YXL RWD with 18 inch 4x4 rims off a 2017 Z71. The 265/65/R18 Michelins have excellent clearance. Truck has new shocks and springs, including the Nivomat rears and "HD" springs. I would like to go to a 275/65/R18. It's really not much of a difference in width and the front end...

AC Delco has gone down the crapper like everything else

I did not change the pigtail, perhaps that's the issue. Thanks for the info. I have the original oil pressure switch, will put that back in when doing the pigtail. The replacement ac delco switch was purchased from rock auto. It lasted 3 months.

AC Delco has gone down the crapper like everything else

I once forgot to replace the filter sleeve shown here, the OE/Genuine/AC Delco (made in Mexico) part only made it about 3 months. I'd get this one and change out the filter sleeve. Also, clean up the ground strap back there and check connections. Keep meaning to do it...

    Some clown did this

Only the driver door has a tumbler. So, only one needed. I'll look around for one. A Viper alarm and a kill switch would be great.

Do they work? I only need one.

    Some clown did this

No kidding. They didn't realize that the door handle is all steel, not the plastic one, making it difficult to break the cylinder loose to access the linkage (at least i think that's how it's done). Would've been 30 seconds with an in the door slim jim, but they're not even aware of that. And...

    Some clown did this

I was out of town and when I got back there was another surprise with the Yukon. Thieves broke the cylinder and broke off what looks like a house key in the lock. On this SLT Yukon only the drivers door has a key lock. Question: is it easy enough to get a GM tumbler/lock set, and key it to my...

    And this happened recently

I assume they were just from the force of the hit. I’m going to pull the bumper to inspect.

Cool. I can barely weld at all, but have experience. I have access to a good tig machine.

Is Rear Quarter Panel Damage Repairable?

they sell a cheater panel that you can seam in yourself. Use real bondo products and rivet/self tap the panel in place to hold it together, with clamps.

    Quarter panel and bumper sources

I did get $3k for the bumper damage. haven't been driving the Yukon so it's been on the back burner. Looking to either salvage the bumper or get a used one. Also, looking at putting in a cheater panel myself.

    Removed door bumpers and badges

This was easy enough to do. Fishing line to get the edge free of the double side tape (three strips), a heat gun to soften up the tape. Once the bumpers are off a $10 eraser wheel on a variable speed drill gets the tape residue off. And followed by some mr. Clean pads to get the dirt...

    And this happened recently

By the way, the real body damage caused by the bumper is hidden under the bumper cover. Is the bumper able to be salvaged?
