yeah, doesn't appear so...If door trigger wire can be accessed, it shouldn't be too bad to wire to new lights in each footwell. I have always been amazed with the lack of lower lighting when exiting and entering the vehicle...as well as when traveling and needing to find something when...
It looks to me to be Gray/Yellow and White/Brown wire for dome lighting. and violet/Grn and White/Yellow for the low ambient lighting throughout the truck. I know that doesn't help much given there are thousands of wires to choose from.
sounds like a plan. I am going to look for pics of others that have accessed the dome lights to see color of harness and/or pics of wiring and follow it. I think it will be easy to locate dome pwr, but might be touch to find the main harness wires that link to the footwell lights. I'm...
You plan to add a second light on each side then and leave the factory ambient light? It should be fairly easy once we know which wire and tap it near door harness.
Probably need to probe wires running to light connection. Once I find time I'll take a look. It might be simple to replace, however, I don't want the light on 24/7 with truck running. I havent really checkes but I believe This is how they are currently wired...more like ambient lighting.
Yes, a joke and a waste of $ on GMs part. You literally have to place hand directly under to see if they are even on. They should have at least added a stronger led to come on with dome light switch.
Yep, there's lighting. It's basically accent lighting identical to the accent led that is in the ceiling by the dome light switch. There is one located in each footwell. They look 10x brighter in pic.
They may seem fine and they are adequate, that is until you drive something with factory hid/led. I feel like I'm driving without lights compared to our 5yr old jeep.
I think GM might be the only company with $50k+ vehicles without factory HID or LED headlights.
.
Correct. Honestly the halogen projector lamps in the LS, LT and yukon SLE, SLT are horrible compared to most vehicles today. I don't know how GM gets away putting such crappy lighting in a $50k+ vehicle.
Doesn't the LTZ have the premium bose system compared to the LT, upgraded leather peforated seats, Mag suspension, adapt cruise as well as a few other items?
.
oh yea, I wouldn't even think about a pre 18 expedition/navigator. 2018 is what I'm waiting for and will then decide what to do. I've seen masked 18 navigators on the road and they appear nice, but until I see both in person and drive, I will wait to see what we go with.
.
I'm sure there are some in the front. Our SLT has one on each side but you have to pretty much have your head on the floor to see it....they are completely useless.
nice! Hopefully, this will treat you well for many years.
yep, our 15 supposedly has bad upper and lower control arms and was told by dealer that it's common with these trucks. I find it ludicrous but who really knows if it's a widespread issue. It's just one of many things... We've had a...
this is one thing I have considered doing as well...the factory lighting is poor at best. I don't understand. Maybe the denali is different but our SLT floor lighting is useless.
ha. Yep. push center button and it will change source. My most favorite and simple function is the channel up/down capability using wheel buttons. It's one function that drives me nuts that is missing with GMss setup.
