I don't believe the bumpers are the same so I highly doubt this can be added to the chevy version. Both bumpers hang to the same level as they sit (yukon with the trim and chevy without), so I don't see how this is possible.
I also know the factory hitch covers are entirely different as the...
glad to hear you are getting out from it. I am still amazed GM has not been able to address this issue.
What vehicles are you going to consider? THe new Expedition should be available in 4-6months. Unless things change with our 15 XL, we plan to take a close look at it once it arrives.
ha. 21lbs is still high in general and especially for these trucks. I thought there was an update stating that 15+ trucks with buffeting/vibration should be under 15lbs. Many of us that have resolved the buffeting have had road force numbers between 12-15lbs as a first attempt. I made sure...
I never cared for the previous model Q7, but was in a 17 recently and it is much nicer in/out compared to the previous model.
We are in the same position with our 15 XL and due to space needs with 4kids, I'm holding out and will seriously consider the 18 Expedition.
Yes, they are different. The short version floor sits a lot higher compared to the Burb/XL. I didn't realize this until I was in a 16 yukon rental a few weeks ago.
Any update? I know GM does not have a legitimate fix for it, but were they able to improve or eliminate the pressure/buffeting issue? It sucks to have such a nice vehicle but not enjoyable to drive. I so wish GM would do something about this issue....no doubt they've lost me as a consumer for...
Yep, we had a similar noise and it was coming from the rear betwen 55-60mph. It was the rear R&P. It's actually going in to dealer for the 2nd time as 12k miles later it's doing it again. Ours, however, occurred when letting of the accelerator (assuming poor backlash setting). Same sound as...
They use the same mounts...the only difference is Long wheel base versus short. It took me 20min to swap bench for buckets in our 15 XL. Sometimes dealers don't have a clue.
I don't know but wow that seems extreme, IMO. Our 15 has a little surface rust here and there but that thing looks like it was dipped in the ocean. I don't know if GM coats much but my 5yr old grand cherokee still looks like new underneath after 5 michigan winters.
Also, I believe you can use buckets that are powered/heated as they sill have the manual lever to release and flip. You'd have a tough time finding buckets that aren't powered as most are optioned with LTZ, SLT, LT Lux, etc. models.
Very true, but you do realize that these trucks have had more 15/16s "buybacks" than any other GM truck? The used market is flooded right now with 15/16s and if you look at the history, many were buybacks. There are some serious flaws with the new design and GM knows it and has no answer...
It takes less than 30min to swap buckets for bench and vice versa. Just need to make sure they are same wheel base. Seats out of Tahoe will not fit suburban, etc.
^^^Ditto. I'm guessing the tires with miles have become worn and out of balance where it creates unnecessary chatter to chassis which creates the well known buffeting (cabin pressure.) It shouldn't be an issue and wouldn't be with most vehicles, but that's not the case with these trucks. We...
I hear ya...it's not so much a "sound" as it is a feeling. I can crank the tunes, use headphones, etc. the pressure feeling is still there just like when drastically changing elevations when driving up/down mountain terrain or when flying. Except at certain speeds the sensation will stay...
agreed...it's not about being picky or not, you either feel it or you don't. Unless it's extremely bad, I'm starting to think it all comes down to whether or not people are sensitive to it. I have a neighbor with a 16 and details his truck weekly, always keeps it garaged, swaps wheels in the...
I am currently in a new 16(late build 2016) rental yukon shorty slt w/less than 10k miles and it has the buffeting/pressure issue worse than our 15 XL.
2wd
18" wheels
If they are unable to RF under a certain number, then I believe you have grounds to
unfortunately , this is the case with many of these trucks. Hopefully you'll get it resolved or get a new truck!
interesting and good to know. I can see why they revised the system because the 15 setup is way too sensitive, IMO. As I said before we've had ours off since 1st week of ownership and if I recall many on here had the same opinion with their 15.
