Yes they are short skirted. I'm thinking that the stocker that's still in the truck and broken may become a 383. Picked up some SP hypers for $50 bucks on CL. Just need a good set of Vortec heads and might do an E85 beast.
I picked mine up in 2010 for $4800. Was a 99 black Z71. Unfortunately it popped the motor 1.5 years later but it's still a fairly pristine truck given the age.

Hey guys just wondering where all I use RTV in the longblock. About the only place I know for sure is at the top of the bulkhead where the intake sits on the block and around the front part of the oil pan.

Awesome. What about the other components like rockers/lifters/pushrods? I think I'm going to go with a cast/roller tip rocker but all my lifters looked good so I might re-use those. Thoughts?
Also when getting pushrods, is there any standard length or do you have to measure length, then buy?
